Nobody besides Zelretch actually knows what the Second Magic really is. That's kind of the entire point. The true magics can be analyzed and studied, but in the end they are incomprehensible and unperformable by anyone other than their specific sorcerers.

Anyway. Good episode was good. Troll Ruby is a troll. Cute Illya is OMG SO ADORABLE I CAN'T TAKE IT!

Miyu's appearance was somewhat slower here than in the manga, although I imagine from Illya and Rin's perspective it would have been much like the original: girl appears out of nowhere with a spear, charges Rider, and stabs her before Bellerophon can go off. Although it did seem more like she came from the side or behind in the manga rather than charging in from the front, but meh. I do not consider this to be a detail of great significance.

We now have MIYU! Rejoice, one and all!

Episode 2 is nice....with gae bolg and medusa, grown up waver....

By the way, why ilya don use archer card, she could use shirou's weapon and if necesaary his noble phantasm, unlimited blade works...that would be so coooool

Yeah, Ilya still remains pretty damn cute. Gets in her first taste of real combat although it was pretty rough at times. Luckily Rider is mostly a pushover so she could get a decent feel for the situation right up till the end.

Certainly this other girl seems to have her stuff together. Probably wasn't being taught cute poses and instead how to actually use the class cards in battle.

).

Illya-chan is a fast learner how to control Ruby with casting spells, but the capture is short-lived with the arrival of the other magical stick which found another new master, and so we now have two magical-girls.

glad to have watched FSN. Can understand what Rider is about to do there. They were almost caught in the explosion!
