The end product doesn't look good and the best way to describe it is like polishing a turd.

Furthermore, the stations aired the series (K-On, Queen's Blade, etc) in 4:3 480p for a reason and fansubbers should respect that regardless of how stupid it is.

Analog conversion with shitty equipment. Every single TBS show with this 4:3 first, 16:9 later setup in BS-i is screwed up into oblivion. Every single one.

as a "raw hunter" or whatever you used to call yourself you should really have known that a) it airs on TBS, b) TBS is a 1080i channel, c) 4:3 shows on TBS -> what mentar said

I have found two scene where the crop is completely on the left side



The rest of the episode use the center crop



So the 4/3 version is done the "normal" way, they take the part of the image where the action take place.

nor do i see the majority boycotting it because it airs in 4:3

in fact, it's one of the most popular shows this season

Someone needs to take care of TBS.. then there won't be any issues with 4:3 broadcasts or blurred 16:9 broadcasts.

They already ruined Clannad with their 16:9 **** filters which blur the entire screen. Now they're ruining Pandora Hearts as well.

it doesn't change the fact you watch it

saving bandwidth + marketing for another broadcast in 16:9 (more ads) + double the impression != fail
