This "Raster Project" stuff is really starting to annoy me.

The end product doesn't look good and the best way to describe it is like polishing a turd.

Furthermore, the stations aired the series (K-On, Queen's Blade, etc) in 4:3 480p for a reason and fansubbers should respect that regardless of how stupid it is.

christ starks shut up, this is what it actually looks like just f y i

the raster project thing is an elaborate troll (e: actually the entire group is probably an elaborate troll)
or well it's either that or aasa-subs are collectively delusional and I find that somewhat hard to believe, even on the internet

Analog conversion with shitty equipment. Every single TBS show with this 4:3 first, 16:9 later setup in BS-i is screwed up into oblivion. Every single one.
Whoever should be willing to pay for this crap is beyond me.

as a "raw hunter" or whatever you used to call yourself you should really have known that a) it airs on TBS, b) TBS is a 1080i channel, c) 4:3 shows on TBS -> what mentar said

Well... K-ON! 4:3 is confirmed to not be a simple center crop.

Isn't that a waste of animation, like Sengoku Basara using different animation styles for different broadcasters?

I have found two scene where the crop is completely on the left side

The rest of the episode use the center crop

So the 4/3 version is done the "normal" way, they take the part of the image where the action take place.

Aka pan&scan.

Still TBS is fail for making 4:3 cuts from 16:9 and padding to 16:9.

Oh, and I own the BD before any of you say anything.

i don't see how they fail

nor do i see the majority boycotting it because it airs in 4:3

in fact, it's one of the most popular shows this season

Someone needs to take care of TBS.. then there won't be any issues with 4:3 broadcasts or blurred 16:9 broadcasts.

Their broadcasts suck harder than a hurricane.

They already ruined Clannad with their 16:9 **** filters which blur the entire screen. Now they're ruining Pandora Hearts as well.

I didn't actually rewatch - It was obvious just from the OP (shiny effects resized) and the ED (specifically the song credits sequence).

They're probably doing this on purpose.

it doesn't change the fact you watch it

saving bandwidth + marketing for another broadcast in 16:9 (more ads) + double the impression != fail
