Anima invites Ryua and Roel to their village.
Hadisu refers to Roel as a 'Taboo Child'.
They tell the girls to never tell anyone else about the location of the village or there will be war.

They go down a valley and encounter a Kaiser Dragon and Crystal Dragon. The two dragons are scared away by the Dragon with a glare.


At Dragon Village

Anima says that their level of civilization is lower than the humans but they are content with what they have.

Their ancestors apparently ruled the continent before losing to the fierce humans. Ryua questions how they could lose if their species was so strong. Anima claims that individual-force didn't matter and the Humans had absolute-number; even if the Dragon and Dragon-People could win battles, the Humans would just keep challenging them and eventually wore them down. He also claims that Humans tried to eradicate Elves, Dwarves, and Demi-Humans.

Then some Dragon-People noticed that Anima is injured and make a fuss but he tells them to calm down.

Ryua raises a question about differences between Anima and the villagers. Anima says they're not so different because their ancestors were dragons and humans, he also offers to explain why Roel is called a Taboo-Child since it's related.

Anima says that 1000 years old ago, someone dabbled with a prohibited technique.

"Brutal and arrogant, a cold-hearted man who consumed many human-beings in their greed and and curiosity. The banned-technique was Fusion. People were combined with monsters to create a new lifeform, a conduct feared even by god."

Anima says the Dragon-People were a result of that technique fusing humans and dragons. He says that Roel is descended from that blood-line.

Roel claims that can't be since she was born in a human-village with human-parents.

Ryua gets angry, really wishing that she could go back in time and hit the bastard who broke the ban on fusion, and cracks the floor. So the story is put on hold for now.

However, I do see the hiccups that you experienced, around Chapter 14 and 15. The translation uses 'That guy' which does lean on the masculine-side in singular-use; they probably should have went with 'That person'.

well, there are other series that uses 'That guy' for females .. though normally used in an annoyed tone of voice . . .

Ch172. Batoramu and Eakes reveals that the New Demon Army is actually just comprised of humans who were genetically-modified more than 30 years ago by the Abangarudo Kingdom.
After a Great Escape, the modified-humans split into two groups: those who wanted revenge and those who simply wanted to live peacefully.
They state that Ryua's and Roel's hometown, Ikana Village, was established by the pacifist-faction of the modified-humans.



Ch120, it's a cursed-sword called Desperado, likely forged with the blood and magic of thousands of demons, and created by the demons as a counter to the Hero and the Holy Sword.

In Ch110, Roel has a flashback. She doesn't remember how she escaped the attack on Ikana Village. There's also a gap in her memory, because by the time she realized it, she was in some other place and suddenly being attacked by people.

Roel is then secretly captured by a dragon-hunter who nurses her back to health. During that time, even though she should be human, she realizes that she's now a dragon and despairs over it.

Later on, the dragon-hunter gets killed and there's blood on Roel's claws. The scene cuts off here, it's implied that Roel lost her memory again because of the trauma.


So, yeah, Roel/Clinker had lost her memories twice.



Anyways...

In Ch111, Roel remembers everything. That her hometown was Ikana Village, that her real-name is Clinker, that her childhood-friend is Ryua, and so forth.

In Ch112, Roel tells Ryua that she's Clinker.
