She had nothing to say really about her and Kiritsugu sealing away Illya's memories (and thus Kuro) or really anything.
What do you want her to say? Would anything she could have said have made it better? That she truly thought she was doing the best thing for her daughter, that she had no idea she was sealing away the girl her daughter had been along with the power and the memories, that she didn't mean for things to happen this way, do you think telling that, now, to the daughter who has had her life; her identity; even her name taken from her, would somehow make things better? Now that Kuro has seen another girl live that life, have that identity, use that name, for ten years?

Nothing Iris could have said at that moment would have made anything any better.

I'm going to go with 'anything.' There is a difference between something not really changing the situation and doing nothing at all. She was like a background character. You may get by with them not really saying or doing something, but when a person is directly connected to the situation any sort of response is good to have.

I guess the reason they did that, and why I'm not too bothered by it is because, this episode was meant to be a reconciliation between Illiya and Kuro and not Kuro and her mother. Hence, they reduced Iri's part to just being an info dump. After all, this show is about Illiya so, it makes sense.

If they expanded Iri's part more then the whole interaction would have been about Iri's regrets (if she has any), her feelings/reasons at that time, Kuro's struggle to reconcile them and if possible forgive her. Illiya would have had no part in this scenario, IMO.

Chiwa Saito did an excellent job, as always.

Guys, you're not allowed to mention any spoiler. Not even something as minor and inconsequential as that; I've been banned for even less when it came to spoilers.

Poor KUro, wouldn't see suffer 2x the physical punishment, since she had to face the one from Iri and AGAIN from the pain connection to Ilya?

That doesn't count as a spoiler, does it?

Short answer: Yes.

Now that I think about it, they totally skipped that part about Iri where Kiritsugu had appeared and such where Iri throws around the shopping bag, drop a cabbage into a large sukiyaki pot where Kiritsugu got his face splashed, and etc. ;3;

I wanted to see that animated...

They must've put too much budget into that fight scene.

true, I been given a warning for just mentioning Bomberman in Btooom's thread (which incidentally I dropped that anime after ep 1)
They said it was a "spoiler"... yea... rrrrright....

Now for topic, lol

Kuro episode, poor Kuro, she suffered so much.

At least she can now enjoy a more peaceful life (until next antagonist comes up, lol) Since she's probably not going after Illya's life now.

except maybe now it's Illya after Kuro... the bro-con is strong in this one.

The feels for Kuro were stronger than in the manga. Chiwa Saito really went all out.

On the Other Side of Lies and Facade

Laziness struck me again.

Nevertheless, Irisviel can be such a cool mother and wildcard to get their family back together, and yet being a scary mom when delivering punishment to her own children.

Anyways, I do understood Kuro's frailty and conflicted pain getting the short end of the stick. I mean never having the chance to have a normal life of her own, and thus feeling unwanted and unloved.

Kuro don't feel bad. You have now a family, and you can be your own self to choose how to live your life as seeing it fit.
