I enjoyed Nine Jedi, Duel and Village Bride the most. Akakiri was also really good. Lop & Ocho and Tatooine Rhapsody were the weakest ones. The Twins was Trigger going full Trigger it was really over the top.

I don't think there was any story that was particularly bad (I didn't enjoy T0-B1, but that doesn't mean there was anything wrong with it), but Nine Jedi stood head and shoulder a over rest imho. Author clearly know how effectively work with his time and twists were both unexpected and yet properly set. It could be used for writing workshop.

TIL that the Village Bride soundtrack was sung by Emi Evans, who also sang the tracks for both Nier games. No wonder it sounded so hauntingly familiar. The Village Bride was absolutely phenomenal.

Ninth Jedi was also great. You can also sort of tell Production I.G. structured it like a pilot episode. I would easily watch a series based on this.

The Duel couldn't be more a Kurosama Samurai Film homage with lightsabers even if it tried. The brush stroke CGI animation style was pure eye candy.

T0-B1 deserves more love, I think. An homage at once to both Star Wars and Astro Boy (human name Tenma Tobio) seems wholly fitting for this project. The Japanese dub even has a seiyuu who was in the 1963 Astro Boy playing Tobi. It's also interesting to compare and contrast the philosophies of the English and Japanese dubbing, where you have (as usual) actual kids in the English version and women playing them in the Japanese version.

It's been noted that due to the nature of the project, these effectively play like nine series pilots. Was that intentional? I certainly wouldn't mind a series based on The Ninth Jedi, though something like The Duel seems more self-contained.

I can imagine that The Ninth Jedi and The Twins could be made into a series with the way they seem to be made like a pilot or even a one shot of a bigger story. The Village Bride appears to be structured from the lens of an outsider visiting and learning about a local culture, so it can be made like an episodic series similar to Kino no Tabi.

I could see The Twins becoming dreary and tiresome by about the third episode, like everything Imaishi does these days. But Ninth Jedi has worlds of potential, and the Village Bride also offers some intriguing possibilities.

I can see Twins working as a movie but a full blown TV series would be a bit too much.

There is going to be a novel that tie ins with The Duel episode later this year called Ronin: A Visions Novel and considering Duel alongside Ninth and Bride received the most buzz I think there is a chance we might get to see more of the Duel in the future.

Personal favorites were Ninth Jedi, The Bride and Lop & Ocho, in that order.

Ninth Jedi has the most potential if they wanted to base a full TV show on it. It has cool lore elements and plot points that can easily lead up to a larger story. The Bride has some awesome soundtrack and explores how different cultures approach their relationship with the Force in different ways. And Lop & Ocho I just liked it because it was pretty emotional for me. I'm a sucker for stories about siblings.

Funny thing that most of my friends did not like the Ninth Jedi. Shows once again that anime tastes differ a lot in Japan, in the West and in former Soviet countries.

Apparently there’s going to be a second “season” of Visions:

More in the “Ninth Jedi” vein, please. Though I fear Kamiyama may be too busy with another franchise at the moment.

For me it's the The Nine Jedi, The Village Bride and Lop and Ocho having the best potentials for a series. The Twins either a short OVA or a movie.

Maybe other studios will get a shot at a Star Wars episode.

How is KyoAni doing these days?

They’re pretty ramped up production-wise I think, though the psychological aftereffects will linger for a very long time.

I would love not just "more in Ninth Jedi vein", but straight down more of Ninth Jedi . That story has more potential then whole new trilogy.

Visions volume 2 has been announced and it seems go fully international with studios from the US, UK, Spain, France, India, South Korea, Japan, Chile and South Africa contributing a story.

I guess it's not longer anime I'll still watching it of course.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

I'm almost pretty sure that that stop motion episode is done by that British studio famous for it. I can't identify the rest, but all of them look fantastic.

I know Lucasfilm did one themselves. There is also one by Area 88. The Star Wars website has details. Angelica Houston is voicing some Sith character, and Denise Lawson will be back to voice Wedge Antilles in another.

The studios are from all over the planet.

Also this releases in less than a month. May 4th.

I'm under the impression that there's going to be two stop-motion segments here, but yeah, you can definitely tell that one of them is being done by Studio Aardman, given the stop-motion style and humor featured in its clip.
