Yuusha ga Shinda! (The Legendary Hero Is Dead!) Anticipation

Yuusha ga Shinda!: (The Legendary Hero Is Dead!) manga series is getting an anime adaptation for 2023 by Liden Films.

Synopsis

Quote:
Far to the north of the world lies Hell's Gate, a portal formerly used by the Demon Lord to invade the human realm. Thanks to the legendary hero Shion Bladearts, wielder of Excalibur, and his loyal band of companions, the Gate was sealed off and the demonic threat was vanquished.

Unfortunately, the seal was incomplete and has begun to weaken, allowing the demons to once again begin their attack. Worried about the safety of his village, selfish and perverted farmer Touka Scott digs pitfalls to defend against the demons. But fear not, for Shion is on his way to reseal Hell's Gate and save humanity!

Or at least he was, because the legendary hero is dead, having fallen into one of the pitfalls Touka dug. Luckily, dealing with the dead is the specialty of necromancer Anri Haynesworth. While she can't revive him, Anri can at least salvage their quest by forcing Touka's soul into Shion's rotting body and dragging him along to Hell's Gate in Shion's place. Not wanting to be left behind, Touka's childhood friend Yuna Yunis tags along. Together, the three of them set out as what just might be the most unsuitable party to ever try to save the world!

This is definitely a different, and slightly morbid, take on the Hero vs Demon Lord conflict .

So Touka's got his childhood friend on one hand and the necromancer using his soul in another...

An incredibly fun series with a protagonist more foul play than Satou Kazuma.

Every anime adaptation from Urasunday has either been out right bad or lackluster. So my hope is not high.

Considering the Manga adaptation is over for this Series, does that mean it would be a full adaptation to the Anime?
I mean, they don't have to wait for catch-up or lack of plot for this, so they can go until the end easily.
Plus it would be a great way to promote the Sequel as well (which starts in May 2022).

It'd be a very long series then though. We'd need several cours. Well, I'm sure we'd at least get to the point where Yuna learns a couple things she didn't know about Touka's past. The part diving through his memories was pretty nice.

Manga has 20 volumes, comparing it to series like Seven Deadly Sins or Dai, I'd say around 50 episodes for a full adaptation? I'd love to, but maybe I'm asking for too much. Even with only one cour I'd still be glad this is getting an anime.
Wasn't aware of the sequel, I'll check that too.

I'm not that well-versed with the series. I just ran across it during one of my scrounging for content and stumbled across one of the last chapters where I spotted... umm...

Let's just say a lot of exposed skin as it ended as it began.

I also recall the exposed skin aspect being pretty equal opportunity - the men end up exposing as much skin as the women (in particular one of the male characters).

If you read the synopsis, the protagonist is a farmer and a pervert. If you look at the picture, you'll notice a suspicious daikon with kneesocks...

His ideal paradise would be filled with beautiful girls wearing knee socks and nothing else. On top of that, he is constantly trying to come up with ways to trick or force the girls around him to wear them. Additionally, while he does grow to be a formidable fighter, he's never able to show more speed, power and combat skill than when he's trying to force a female opponent into knee socks (and strip off the rest of her clothing).

There's also another hilarious character who has absolutely zero nudity taboo, who frequently worries about the "perverts" that keep appearing wherever he goes and disturbing the locals.

Is there a checklist being checked off for shit needing adaptations and sequels being checked off? Cause there have been consecutive announcements about titles that have always been on a wishlist of some sort. Yuusha Ga Shinda, Helck and Hoshi no Samidare were a part of mine.

If so, I'm still waiting for them to check enough to reach "No Game No Life Season 2" and "March Comes in Like a Lion Season 3-4". But it is indeed odd, a lot of series I didn't think would ever get adapted coming out one after another. First we had series after series I thought would never be allowed on TV like Reviewers and Healer, then stuff I just didn't think would get an adaptation at this point. Who knows what's next.
