Does anyone know what happened to mazui?

It looks like the whole page is abandoned and the team went awol.

I've been waiting for them to come back but it never happened...

Between them and Rori being annexed by FFF I feel as though we lost two great subbing teams

Burnout, perhaps? Sometimes you just stop caring for something.

Also, all sub groups are the same people.

Huh? Clarify this statement please. Example: Central Anime has no relation or people from mazui if that's what you're implying.

The key thing you didn't understand from my post is I want to know what this means "Also, all sub groups are the same people". It makes no logical sense. I know my group has no one involved from any other group out there.

What jfs was non-elegantly saying was that when a sub group "dies" it is rarely if ever the case that the people involved in that sub group all vanish. Rather some of them work with other groups or start their own groups.

Over many years there had been a small handful of "core" people who really ran most of the digital fansubbing scene, gathering more temporary staff into groups, i.e. it was a semi-closed system. That's what he meant by "all sub groups are the same people".

Your group, Central Anime, is a complete exception to the rule. You are almost perfectly described as the "Galapagos" of anime fan subbing, and I think you're quite aware of it.

I linked this topic to the folks in Yabai, which is where Mazui originated from. ^^

Edit.
Basically they got busy with work and some are subbing for UTW and Underwater currently. ^^
