Fav series of all time. It's so addicting, despite a few books that were slow.

Read The Wheel of Time in high school, I think Freshmen year. Loved it at the time... I remember later in the series nothing was happening at all but I still couldn't stop reading because I was so attached to the characters. More fantasy series need to adopt polygamy in order to solve the problem of stale romance.

Authors biting the dust? Probably from all that stress of trying to get their manuscripts accepted and pleasing the fans again.
Anyhoo, T_T at his X_X. GL HF RJ in heaven. Maybe he'll meet some ah my goddess girls.

When it comes to reading, I despise...., absolutely despise the fantasy genre, and yet I have come to respect Robert Jordan as a one of the few talented writers who had ways with words. It's a real loss. Rest in peace.

funeral arrangements are up on Dragonmount if you happen to live near Charleston..
as for Memory of Light: from wotmania: Quote:
it was also posted on the blog a few posts back that Harriet and Wilson sat down and were told the whole story, so theres a good chance the two of them might even finish it (she was his editor too). personally, I think I would like that most, if Harriet & Wilson finished it, much more symbolic than another named author. |

What the.... what the.... what.... oh the humanity, how the hell am I going to read the conclusion of Wheel of Time now!? *cries*
Granted I haven't followed it past the fifth book or so since ten years ago... but I was eventually going to catch up with the series. WoT was one of the few foreign fanatasy series I always envisioned to be a perfect candidate for an anime series (more so than Deltora Quest and Gedo). Rest in peace, oh great author. What's with all these authors going... who's next Piers Anthony? Tracy Hickman? Please let this not be a horrible jinx....

Hope they do, but you know.... it's never going to be the same without RJ around.
Either way, i hope they will finish it.... i got the whole series still and still reread em every year or two. Favourite character for me was Mat and Perrin

One of my favorite "inside jokes" in WoT was everysingle one of the three main male characters, such as Mat, always said to themselves, "I wish Perrin were here. He understands women." Then Perrin would say, "I wish Mat were here. He understands women." rand said this kind of stuff, too.
