Thats preatty good for a first try . Now here's what i think. The arms are too short, they should reach just above the knees. The right arm looks more detailed then the left arm for some reason too. Also the palm of the hand and fingers could use work. Lastly the tail seems to be groing out of his leg and neck looks kinda huge. Overall this is a very good first art!!! A suggest is try starting up with a basic stick model and adding the details to the position, you will get much cleaner results. Heres a link to what i think is the best tutorial site for anime : http://www.polykarbon.com/

Tutorials are good for reference but you shouldnt count too much on them.. they can really only teach you one way to draw. To develop your own style just keep practicing! Pick a character that you really like (or just make one up) and draw it over and over and over until everyones sick of it and they tell you to draw something else or theyll KILL you. For a first fanart this is really good! You already have a good concept of anime! Keep going! (and dont forget to make choo choo noises on the way!)
