Boukensha ni Naritai to Miyako ni Deteitta Musume ga S-Rank ni Natteta series is getting an anime adaptation

Plot Synopsis

Quote:
The life of an adventurer isn't always a glamorous one. Belgrieve finds this out the hard way when a deadly encounter robs him of his leg and the ability to pursue his dreams not long after setting off for fame and fortune. But fate isn't finished with this retired adventurer! While gathering herbs in the wilderness, he discovers an abandoned baby girl and names her Angeline after deciding to raise her as his own. Angeline grows up to become a top-tier adventurer in her own right, yet after venturing out into the world and making a name for herself, fame, fortune, and power hold no allure for the accomplished S-rank adventurer: her heartfelt wish is for nothing more than to see her father again.

I've already harped at how much I just love this series (^,^ )! It is currently my favorite fantasy manga. I just adore the father/daughter relationship here. I figured it would get an anime, especially after Slow Second Life got one, it was just a matter of time. Really looking forward to this one. Hope it gets a good studio; I want the battles to really do the series justice.

Oh yeah, I remember this one. It wasn't quite my type of story, but the story was different from the usual and it looked like a decent story. I'd be curious to see the anime.

Ange sounds a bit older than I'd like, but otherwise is fine. Not really sure if they are gonna have decent action scenes, but the art style isn't bad, and there are a few cuts that give me the impression that it'll have some decent choreography, if nothing else.

It's Hayamin. Seems like she just forgot how to sound differently. Apparently, the LN is finished, but I doubt they will adapt all of it.

Is Papa Junichi Suwabe the new thing? I don't dislike it (never expected him to play Hayamin's dad though) .

Not a bad trailer, a bit lower in quality animation-wise than I initially thought, however still looks decent. There's one thing I disliked about it. I'll put it in spoiler tag, since it might spoil a new viewer's interpretation of the series:

Cute first episode I guess, kinda curious when and under what circumstances father and daughter will meet up... seems like it might be a while.

Animation and choreography wasn't as good as I initially thought =0(... otherwise a decent start. Like Helck, seems like they are adopting 3 chapters per episode, which is a nice pace, as it should get to all of the moments shown in the opening without cramming anything.

I think animation get passing marks (except CG horses, that one was rather jarring) and if nothing else character design and background was really spot on. I also like that some small details anime did, like Mirriam being carefull about her hat, that was really nice touch.

That was cute. Although I do wonder how long they can drag out having her being unable to reach home before it gets a bit old. Although honestly I'm curious to see what the show will be besides that premise. Ange is doing extremely well for herself. She's already reached the top level an adventurer can reach. While incredible disasters seem to happen pretty often, it's not like there's anything (so far) that's really gunning for her.

Maybe there will be something to her origins that the story can sink its teeth into though. The girl was abandoned and there has to be something to that. It's a weird contradiction that she was left in the woods where she could have easily died yet put wards and stuff in that basket. Not exactly an ideal location for someone to find her after all.

I kind of feel for her companions as well. Since it seems like they can't even take time off if Ange is going to get her vacation. If Ange wants to nail that extreme workload they have to keep at it and while she's trying to take her vacations they need to support other parties to help cover for her. Not that they seem to mind. They do care about their friend and want to help her get home.

All in all, very solid beginning episode. I also hope they don't drag that "she can't seem to visit her father because emergencies" out too much. It's good for a joke episode, but not for the premise of an entire show.

Seems cute, glad the father avoided the death flags so far.
