Weakest episode of the season so far imo.

Well it was kinda cute but I hope that archer named Kiuru will be more relevant later on.

I can't help but feel uncomfortable at Haku conveniently getting instantly popular with all the characters, since the reasoning from it is likely disturbing (guessing from the first season/game)

Wait what? The inn they are staying in is Hakuroukaku? Uhhh..... Isn't that sort of suspicious? It's also well fortified, which makes it all the more questionable.

Also, the owner... That hair... I recall someone really powerful... Immensely powerful, with that same hair color. Which then makes me wonder why all these characters are in this country and not in their own?

As for the new characters, Atui is the daughter of Soyankekuru, the Ouro of Shahhoro. Which, means absolutely nothing to me since I don't have a clue what any of that means. They do call her a princess, however.

Kiuru is the younger brother of Oshutoru, the Royal General of the Right. However, that doesn't make sense, since he calls Nekone as Nekone-san instead of onee-san. Maybe he just calls Oshutoru that out of respect?

Not only that, but I think one of the servants that was shown has the same hair color as Touka.

And if Touka is there, that mean Karuura is probably over there as well.

If thats all true, no wonder the safety is guaranteed.

It looks to me like we'll see her next week.

As for why she's there, once Hakuoro was gone,
Spoiler for Info from the original game only:
there wasn't really all that much linking her to Tuskuru beyond her friendships, was there? And while I haven't seen the episodes yet, my understanding from other sources is she'd sort of deliberately abandoned the name she was born with, and by extension, any real connection to her original homeland, so she wouldn't have gone there. This country seems as good a place as any.

Hmm... spoilertagged the only thing that isn't from the previous series, although I suspect the game would also have covered that. Everything else is from the previous series, and I'm being fairly vague about details.

It's really hilarious to see Haku's returning pose turning from sitting wearily to lying on the floor. And while he seems doing everything with a long face he's still getting everything done, which is a nice touch. The way it show the point of the jobs assigned from Oshutoru is also much better than just explaining it, but I doubt anyone would have guessed the true meaning of getting this job.

Haku's apathy to everything, yet getting everything done, is entertaining to watch.

The good-natured, spacey, flirty, Osaka-ben (she was speaking with a thick Osaka accent, right?), kitty eared princess was for some reason extremely bizarre for me to encounter in this ep.

That, combined with Haku being himself and the random archer wearing the odd mask somehow created a overall effect for me.

I liked it, but it was...odd.

By the way...the ep title mentioned a pirate. Is that the archer? The Osaka-ben princess? Or...?

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

Wow, I can't believe I missed that. The head piece covered all the right areas, too.

The issue is why are multiple characters gathered here in this country? What makes this country so special that they gathered here instead of gathering in the original setting?

_______

We're 5 episodes in and battles have not started yet. It makes me wonder what the goal of this series is. Right now, it looks like Haku is just gathering his harem.

As for the inn, I'm surprised Kuon spent all her money on it. If they do have a connection with the owner, then I have a feeling that Kuon received quite a discount or the money is in safe keeping.

I get the feeling that Kuon's a little perverted. I first thought this when I saw how she peeked on Haku, but I got this feeling a bit more near the end of this ep: when Atui suggested Kuon and Haku were lovers, Kuon showed no reaction at all, indicating not only that they weren't but that she had no feelings positive or negative about this fact; but when Atui suggested they were doing various things, Kuon got very flustered, and not in a clearly embarrassed or offended way you might expect. It seems like Kuon may be sexually attracted to him without currently any emotional attraction beyond simple friendship.

I'm kind of surprised that things haven't really blown up into anything yet. Certainly taking a slower approach of building unlike the first season. Heck I'm starting to wonder if more than Haku's simple life in the capital is going to happen here .

So far still just building up the main cast. Which is ok, but figured we'd see something bigger happen by now. I mean Atui was kind of entertaining in her own way, but her presence hasn't really started anything. I mean she was interesting enough I suppose. The princess running out to find love and getting flustered quite often when things get more real or up close to her.

There was some progress for Haku. His reading and writing has improved and clearly it's still making a point that this guy is pretty darn smart. Still going to wait for that to be more than a point of interest though.

Haku has a point. Kuon how can you spend everything without saving any for income?! Does that mean money means nothing to you or are you secretly rich that this is just change to you?

Cause when you said you understand the runaway I think you are telling about yourself.
