Though my knowledge in punk is kinda weak these days... check out None More Black, Murphy's Law, Bad Religion, Jughead's Revenge, Operation Ivy, Rancid.... I basically just listed some stuff on the cd I'm listening to right now... there are prolly more good bands out there... check out Offspring's self titled Epitaph label album... b4 they went to Sony... it's dope...

hmm I'm not a UGE punk fan.. but I like some a the commercial songs.. Like Blink 182 and some others.. I guess I would have love it more if my older sister didn't almost made me deaf with it.. Men, I didn't even had time to grow up and get used to it (and some other substances) before I was Struck by that very tennage music..

Well i would recommend offspring, cause i love them so much, but it's probably not the new age punk you're looking for (which i hate) . I'd imagine you need something like Good Charlotte or Blink 182.

Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Clash, The Dead Milkmen, Black Flag , etc, etc. THere is NO, understand?, NO punk music created after 1990. Period. But yah, I used to listen to punk music, then I started listening to like Pink Floyd and jazz. But if you want a REALLY good punk band, then check out, well I don't really know what you're looking for, so I can't really help you there. Tell me what you;'re looking for, hardcore, comedy, light, etc, and then I can help you out a bit.

I love punk music! And Karma; I'm sorry but saying there is no punk music created after 1990 is BS.

I've had no luck finding Japanese punk rock unless you wanna include Hi-Standard, but they sing in english. The closest I found was Guri Guri which is the theme song for Green Green, but I only know it's supposed to be punk because the shows creator said it was.

Of course as far as American punk goes, as stated above Face to Face (R.I.P) kicks ass, as well as older music by The Queers (Love songs for the Retarded, Don't Back Down, and Move Back Home, are my favs) they're kind of Beach Boys meets the Ramones.

For something a little more obscure, check out Sicko. They're a Seattle based pop-punk band, there are a few free MP3's on their site, but they're kind of low quality. Murder City Devils are also a popular seattle punk band.

Also internet radio is a good way to check out different punk bands.

I more meant that no MAINSTREAM punk music has been created since then. Maybe not mainstream, but not really anything good that I'VE heard. Since the only good punk music now is underground, and the fact that I'm 14 so I can't drive, and I live in a tiny town in Oregon, USA, so needless to say, I don't hear much underground stuf. I just kinda gave up on listening to punk music, it all got boring and old, most of it. But true, there has been punk music created since 1990

I agree with Karma. The punk now is nothing like the originals. Sure it's still called punk, but it is no longer the same sub-genre.

If you claim to like Punk then you should check out Solar's Jubei-chan 2. The intro and notes are more punk than you kiddos will ever be! :)

Check out Slapstick; they're a good ska-punk band. If you don't buy their album, at least get Eighteen and Wake Up Stanley.

Some bands I listened to back in the day:
  • Suicide Machines
  • Operation Ivy
  • Hate Fuck Trio - they're alright. Judging from the bands you're listening to, you won't like these guys too much. I suggested them because I want you to get "Boobs a Lot"
  • One Point Two - most of their music was on mp3.com but no luck now. You can still find two of their songs at their page on IUMA
  • Unwritten Law - not really punk, but close enough *shrug* [edit] I recommend their old stuff over the new stuff. You might like these two albums: Oz Factor and Unwritten Law
  • Ramones
  • Pennywise
  • AAA (Against All Authority)

I don't really listen to punk nowadays though.

Yeah, i have to agree with you that there's no real mainstream punk, if you looking for punk listen to the ramones, the clash, sex pistols, and i guess if you like the first 2 you might wanna check out the who...they're a good band, and then if you live in a suburban area, there's most likely one or two good punk bands around... sometimes.

Bad Religion
Pennywise
Less than Jake
Millencolin
Offspring

I have some Punk-O-Rama cd's, that gives you a good idea of what's good or not.

I can also recommend some of Pulley, Voodoo Glow Skulls, NOFX, Dwarves, The Bouncing Souls, Union 13, Ten Foot Pole, All, Randy, Deviates, Guttermouth, Floggin Molly
