Three years ago, to defeat the Demon God who is trying to destroy this world, thirteen braves are summoned from another world. Each of them are bestowed with powers not normal in this world.
One asked for indomitable will against any adversity.
One asked for god-like magic power.
One asked for a power to heal everyone.
One asked for a power to cook foods that will bring smile.
And so forth, each of them conveyed they wish and granted as what they asked so they can complete their quest. They then depart, on adventure to defeat the demon god. For two years, they journeyed together and survived many hardships in this world, through joy, sadness, and discord, they persevere and in the end defeated the demon god, brought peace to this world and lived there. Among those thirteen, is one man. The most mediocre of all, but everyone would say:
It is he, the center of the thirteen braves, who is far more heroic than others.
It is he, who valiantly stands on the foremost line, protecting the others behind him.
It is he. the strongest man that kill the demon god.
And it is he, the only one who is blessed and loved the most by the goddess.

Protagonist is an adult who is sloven and untidy. As an adventurer, he always take safe quests with low payment and keep telling others that he is weak. He, however, cannot ignore people in trouble and regarded as a noble and lofty man. He is not OP, as his ability has restrictions depending on the situation.

Its a good intro... It could have much more stronger impact if you changed some words here and there like

"He's the weakest at the same time the strongest"
"He's the most coward but at the same time the bravest of all of us"

or something like that... but hey... you win the gold plate for this!

my favorite thing about this is that no matter how hard he tries to deny it everyone from the gods to the 12 heroes to everyone in the kingdom will look at him as a hero even beyond them.

it makes me cry sometimes hearing what they think about him

His wish is to have a power that can kill the demon god so that he can protect the others and bring them back home. Hearing this wish, Elemenhilde choose to follow him and he acquired a medal that capable of killing god (that is if the restrictions are unlocked)

Romance aspect, yes? While I answer that, let's take a slight peek at the characters.

Spoiler for Thirteen Heroes:

1. Yamada Renji / Godslayer
He is the last of the hero to be called, but since he is the protagonist and at the same time the leader (much to his chagrin) he is placed here as the first. 28 years old man. At several minutes meeting him, you will see that he is the bad example of what adult can be there: likes to drink, only work easy quest for beginners (with small-changes reward) claiming himself a weak person (despite it being not true), tends to find things bothersome to him. But he is downright "a verb hero who cannot ignore people in need of help". During the Quest to slay the Demon God (Majin), Renji is driven by the responsibility as the oldest of the group and tried his best to protect the others.

His power is the "Weapon to kill god, <Elemenhilde>", A medal with it's own consciousness that can transform into any kind of weapon and capable of killing even god. Due to restrictions put on Elemenhilde, Renji cannot pull out the full potential of Elemenhilde unless the requirements are achieved. The seven restrictions are:
- The will of the user to fight.
- The will to protect someone.
- Death of allies.
- On the battle against the god.
- ???
- Received the blessing from Goddess Astraera (*Renji have to meet her directly).
- ???
Due to his achievements (and testimonies from his allies), he is known as many titles (The man blessed by the goddess, the godslayer, the strongest man, the leader of the thirteen, etc). He came to be revered ( he himself refused to be called as such) and hated as well by the demon tribes.

After the quest, he disappear from public (rumours about him spread like "he is still fighting alone somewhere against the demons" or "He becomes the spouse of the goddess", etc) and goes on adventure to show the world to Elemenhilde (at the same time saving people along the way).

2. Amagi Souichi / Brave
You can say he is the template of protagonist in every shounen story. 18 years old teenager with good looks. His personality is a bit weak and is not that smart either. He respect and admires Renji, enough to dreams to be a man like Renji.

His power is "Undefeatable as long as will is not broken". With Holy sword of the Goddess in hand, he is known as "The brave who knows no lose" and can fight on par with Demon King (Maou). Once his ability is activated his hair raised like in Saiyan-mode.

He is currently a student at magic academy along with his childhood friend and little sister.

3. Fuyou Aya / Wizard
Childhood friend of Souichi and Yayoi, 18 years old. During the quest, she thought of Renji as a weakling and protects him with her magic, but on one occasion, she start to have feelings for him when He protect him in one battle.

Her power is "Magical power rivalling the Gods". She is known as the "great Wizard" who can fight on par against Demon God in magic battle. But because of her too strong magical power, sometimes her magic ends up swallow her allies as well. Renji gave her several idea and raised her as a wizard excel in support magics (nicknamed Digger Wizard #1 by Elemenhilde).

She is currently a student at magic academy along with her childhood friend and his little sister. While her feeling for Renji has a tinge of "affection to father" (she was raised in fatherless home), she certainly cares deeply for him and is taking offensive approach.

4. Amagi Yayoi / Saint
Little sister of Souichi, 17 years old. She is polite and kind in front of the public, but shows her true frank self only in front of Souichi and Aya. Somewhat a bro-con.

Her power is "To heal any kinds of wound". She is revered as the "The Holy Woman" and garnered lots of fans.

He is currently a student at magic academy along with her older brother and childhood friend..

5. Utano Yuuko / Sage
If Renji is the father figure of the group, then this 28 years old woman is the mother figure. During the preparation days before the quest, she spends time at the library, and get close with Renji who also frequents the library.

Her power is "To use any kinds of magic from any story, manga, and movies that she knows". Yep, she has wide knowledge of aniime and manga, along with her hobby of reading books, she easily calimed herself the title of Sage (or sometimes, Witch) due to wide array of unique magics (which is unconventional in that world).

Currently working at the kingdom in administration department. She has feelings for Renji and both are somewhat keeping close comfortable relationship (but not a couple yet). While she doesn't show it in front of others, when they are alone she can be quite bold, taking one step further than Aya (kiss for example).

6. Inoue Koutarou / Mage
21 years old man, called as Chuuni-wannabe by Renji because of his unstable character. Has many pronouns, using "Ore", "Watashi", "Boku", "Ware", etc. He also change his appearance which resulted in silver hair, right red eye, left gold eye, and androgynous appearance. Weak to tsukkomi and unexpected things, which makes him revert to his true self when happened.

His power are his eyes, which earned him the title of "Magic-eyes Holder" along with many other titles. His right eye can see glimpes of future. Unlike Aya who is a "logic"-type of mage, Koutarou is the opposite "Sense"-type of mage, which caused these two to bickers everytime they meet.

He is currently on a Demi-human continent, Basically a good guy who helps people in need and directly ask other help whenever he sees grim future.

7. Hiyuu Yui / Monster Tamer.
16 years old Albino girl. The youngest of the group. She has timid personality and kind of have some phobia with guys (possibly due to bullying experience).

Her power is "To make contract with monster". Currently she has contracts with 3 monsters: Fairy Queen <Anastasia>, Dead Knight <Knight>, Dragon <Fafnir>.

She is travelling all around the world with her three monsters.

8. Toudou Hiiragi / Chef
26 years old chubby man.

His power is "to cook foods with strengthening effect".

He is currently managing a back-alley restaurant at the kingdom capital. On a good-term with castle head-maid.

9. Kuki Yuuta / Knight
23 years old man with tall figure (Renji is aroud 180cm, he is taller than him and still growing) and slit eyes.

His power is "Shield to protect from any kind of attacks". A tanker with excellence swordmanship and high physical ability.

Currently working at the kingdom as vice-captain of the fourth knight squad. Is in love with Princess Amalda.

10. Hisaki Masaki / Swordswoman

19 years old girl. She has pride being a swordsmand and always wants to be the best at sword.

Her power is "to cut through fates". She is known as Magic-sword user and used katana as weapon.

Currently studying at military academy. She has feelings for Souichi.

11. Kudou Rin / Item Creator
22 years old girl with beautiful looks but casually careless to fashion. She is more interested to female than male. Her personality is "going-my-way" and tends to tease others (the usual victim is Souichi as she wants to tease Yayoi and Masaki).

Her power is "to create any kinds of item". She can create weapon, armors, even furniture, etc.

Currently managing a workshop at Commercial city. She always wear clothes that is comfortable even when dirty, recently, Maid-uniform.

12. Enomiya Yuuichirou / Avenger
18 years old. Currently reside at commercial city.

13. ??? / Weapon Master

- Elemenhilde
Surprise! she is the cover girl of the first volume. Elemenhilde was given by Astraera to Renji when he wished for a power to kill god. She takes the form of a medal with jade jewel on the center and 7 colored jewels circling it. Renji has habits of flicking the medal. As Renji partner, she always told him to be more hero-like and often utter "How deplorable...". Renji is fixated on her and may have feelings for her.

- Fransesca Barton
19 years old. A student at magic academy. She first met with Renji on the guild, later saved by him three times (One, when she ignores his advice and almost get killed by on quest; Two, when she needs training to clear the test given by academy and Renji accept her offer; Three, when she is almost killed by Black Orc). She respect Renji (and may have some feelings for him) and learn many things from him (including sword style). Called by Elemenhilde as "Digger Wizard #2"
- Faylona
An Elven male who often make teams with Renji. Sometimes also teams with Fransesca. An affable man excel in sword, bow and spirit magic.
- Mururu
15 years old. Young girl of human-beast tribe (wolf). She comes from the Demi-human continent to deliver something from the "Spirit God" to "Sage" Yuuko. Excelling in physical ability, she can easily outmatch Renji and Faylona. She is ignorant to way of the worlds. Usually being carefree and likes to eat or doing nothing. Surprisingly has a diligent side. After the quest, she teams with Renji, Fransesca, and Faylona.
- Solnea
A mysterious girl found by Renji at the cave.
- Anastasia
The first contract monster of Yui. She appears to be teasing, especially to Renji and sometimes show tsundere moments whenever pointed that she likes Renji. She can't win against Yui and is afraid to make Yui sad.
- Knight
The second contract monster of Yui. He is blindly loyal to Yui and easy to overreact if it is about her. He can't talk.
- Fafnir
The third contract monster of Yui, Despite a powerful monster, the meeting of him and the thirteen heroes is anticlimatic, starting with deadly battle, and ended with Fafnir thanking Yui who pull out spear stuck on Fafnir leg and make contract with her.
- O'brien Albelia
48 years old, captain of the first knight squad and known as the strongest man in Kingdom. He trains most of the thirteen heroes during their early days.
- Astraera
Goddess that governs over light, she created human.
- Zwenelia
Spirit god that governs over nature and earth. Created demi-human.
- Nayfell
Demon god who governs over darkness and destruction. Created monster and demons. Slayed one year ago before the start of the story.
