Well, I guess I'll have to wait and see if other elements of the story will be good enough to compensate my dislike for the protagonist's character design.

Wow, there is power fantasy then there is this. Dude only knows about qi from a book he read, yet by the end of the ep he is able to use techniques above Tao's level, lol

Guess the "Shota Thighs Controversy" is really killing this series in terms of popularity in the non-Japanese region.

While in Japan, it's in the Top 3 of New Anime for a lot of Streaming Services.

Anecdotal experience but among my friends the protagonists design is a huge negative.
I'm also not a fan of how Loyd seemed completely indifferent when Pazuzu started beating everyone. I guess it's not a lie that he's only interested in magic.

The biggest mystery is the harmless looking geezer king yet. All his children are gifted with sorcery or intelligence. It would not be surprising if the geezer king turns out to be a demi-god.

The visit to the guild suggests that the maid is that mystery super star adventurer who suddenly disappeared. She became the maid of the prince, most likely she adores him. So, he is her boyfriend since the beginning. The maid is training him to be her ideal husband.

The prince turns the assassin guild turns from a deadly group to a joke. This episode is comical.

I must not have been paying attention, but what was poison loli doing at the castle in the first place? Spider guy said something about "you ran off without killing him"; did that mean she was there to kill Lloyd, or was she there for some other purpose and his statement was just admonishing her for not killing someone who had caught her?

Kinda funny that the show immediately swung them from appearing to be antagonists to buddy buddy. They're an assassin guild, and it's obvious from the convo that they are not strangers to killing people. I guess now that Lloyd fixed them they're supposed to be forgiven for whatever murders and other sordid things in their past because of the uncontrolled power sob story? I guess though Lloyd doesn't really care about that kind of thing anyway, so long as they pique his interest lol

It's the later.
Aka., they didn't know the one who caught the Poison girl was the 7th Prince (so he wasn't a target). They thought it was some random and questioned Poison girl on why she didn't finish of a witness.

The Poison girl went to the Castle to investigate, as she had also commented on how the Royal family was creating Enchanted Weapons to prepare for War.

Makes sense. Deliberately offing a royal, even one as far down as seventh, would be a pretty bold move for a small group of misfits lol
