I would want the anime to give us more info about them, their origins, what is their motivation / reason they have that much hate, if ships-girls can really become Abyssal, how does it work, etc.

I don't expect them to show abyssal as cute nor having them acting mostly like humans as it's seen in many doujins or fan works. Maybe in a parody.

I don't really expect cute if they show up either, but any characterization would be an improvement. Airfield/Midway Hime's appearance was hardly better than that of any other random shinkaiseikan, even though she has a bit of game dialogue, unlike the generic game Wo. In my previous post I said that they might as well have used the Neuroi from Strike Witches, the level of enemy development in the anime is about the same. (Arguably in SW there's more enemy development than in the KC anime (anime specifically).)

Some anime nowadays tend to add a considerable extra amount of scenes to some episode sin the BD. If they do that to last episode, we may get to actually see the Black Wo Shooter sinking.

The sky thing is pretty weird. And it's something that I noticed a bit in other episodes as well. It's like they couldn't make up their minds on if they wanted a particular scene to have bright blue sky or dark ominous clouds.

I honestly would be interested in what the Director's explanation of this might be.

I thought maybe the sky thing was a split between the CG group and the traditional group, but the shots that look like CG don't even agree with each other.

Yeah the quality is pretty suck. Worst of all is the pacing through, with character standing around while surrounded by enemies....

This is what happens when they are directionless on this, trying to fit too many kanmusu in to appeal fans. For that battle, they actually only need:

• Akagi and Kongou and Yuudachi going alone first
• Fubuki appear to help out on AA
• Yamato and Kaga as support fleet and provide air cover
• Mutsuki to provide the Admiral news

2 battleships, 2 carriers and 2 destroyers for most of the battle. This would have made the battle much more intense rather than 50 ships stand ideally

Which summarised the issue with the anime, they go for the safe route brushing the very cliche surface of each character, and ended up failing to explore or show the unique personality of anyone but Fubuki, which is very generic to begin with. This includes Yuudachi and Mutsuki. You will watch this anime, and then think "I rather stick with the character portrayed in the game, they have more depth and personality"

So what were those white-ball-things the Hime sent out? A fighter or a bomber? Didn't show they could shoot, but there's a launcher in their mouth. Compared to Wo-class' fighters.

Little correction: The worst fighter in the game is the Type 96.

If those were Zero's they'd be type 21 Zero's.
But yeah the original hellcat was far superior to the Zero.

Its kinda sad they only showed head on fighter engagements instead of the way the Japanese actually used.

Basically they flew circle climbs higher and higher. After a while the Wildcat's would stall out and they just had to turn around shooting the stalling plane.

The moment the Hellcat came onto the Battlefield those pilots were in for a really bad surprise.

I was wrong, Tone/Chikuma actually fired in this episode and they took down a Wo-class to boot.
