Well, she does has more space in the lead color page than Iida, so I guess we gonna see lots and lots of her in future chapters/arcs. Wouldn't even wonder if she becomes a possible love interest as that ship would probably get a lot of fans immediately.^^

And in this week's chapter (via Chinese scans):
Spoiler for 24:
Edit: Chapter 20 English is out! The backup from the academy managed to make it in time, but Izuku's narration at the end certainly does add some weight to the theory that All Might's days are numbered..... Last edited by marvelB; 2014-12-21 at 00:28. |

Bumping since translated 21 is out (less than a day after 20 came out, too! Wow! ).
Anyways, I mentioned in the spoiler for this chapter before that I had a bad feeling about the police detaining Noumu, since I can't see them holding a monster who's essentially the anti-All Might for long. But I also have another suspicion that one of the pro teachers at the academy is a traitor (at least, that's what came to mind when Shigaraki called the person on the monitor "sensei"). I also think it's possible that detective could be a traitor as well, but I'm holding my breath on that for now.... |

Just picked up this series. Really is starting out well i'd like to see where it goes. Its interesting to see a series that is basically inspired by American super heroes, but in a genuine sense... i mean there is also One Punch Man which is also great, but that's more of a parody of super heros
One thing i do find interesting is Izuku's powers. Super strength is the most overused super power in fiction, but here they give it an interesting twist. I really can't remember ever seeing a character given super strength that he not only couldn't not easily control, but was also severely destructive to his own body. now THAT is a server draw back to have to deal with and climb over. can't say i like Deku's hero costume. First thing i thought when i saw that thing was the Rabbit from Donnie Darko. The thing just screams rabbit to me. It just doesn't feel right. Quote:

Actually that's one thing that kinda irks me though... The police don't see to have any noticable quirks. Its possible they could have them and they are not noticable, but even in the first chapter All Might suggested that Deku could have become a police officer. You would think in a world where most of the population has superpowers, that the police would be more like a very organized super group that forgoes the usually costumes and names that vigilante-like superheroes use... They would highly value super powers; A quirkless officer would only be suited for a desk job. It just irks me since its little details like that which can take me out of a story

My guess is that there ARE policemen with quirks (for instance, I doubt that catman cop we saw was a "normal" officer), but it's just that since the heroes take up the brunt of the dirty work in subduing the villains, a police force dedicated to the same task would be redundant in comparison. Therefore, they're basically around for cleanup work. Like All Might himself said, it may be an ultimately thankless job, but it's still admirable work since they still help maintain peace in the end. |

^It still 25 chapters, Hidan. The translators were quite fast in their pace to reach chapter 24. Salute to them.
Man, 25 raw was something else. Deku has not use his quirk in the Obstacle race. But instead, he uses his intellect and wits to overcome the special obstacles. The last part was pretty "Explosive" way to catch up with Todoroki in the lead. |

Yeah, 25 is awesome! I loved seeing how clever Deku can be! He's gonna be a real force to be reckoned with once he starts using his noggin in tandem with his mastered quirk!
Also, I mentioned it earlier in a spoiler, but I still thought it was cool to see a confident Mineta in ch. 24 (as brief a moment as it was at least, lol ). Also, it's hard to tell if Midnight is seriously exposing her boobs in that outfit.... I'd guess she's wearing some sort of catsuit or something, but it's hard to tell in black and white pages. Hopefully a colored pic of her will clarify the matter eventually. |

Well, English 25 is out, which means we're completely up to date with the weekly releases now!
Also, I checked out the one-shot version of this series earlier. It was pretty interesting.... Horikoshi's art style at the time was slightly less "cartoony" than it is now, for instance. Also, the Midoriya from the one-shot is already an adult, not a teenager (he has a different first name, too. I think it's Jack instead of Izuku). Lastly, while it was still themed around heroes, there is no hero training school. Interestingly, the only other familiar face present is that cowboy hero, Snipe (whose design hasn't really changed much at all in the current series). I sure hope we'll see this one-shot translated someday.... |
