To be honest, though I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill, it's mostly that I feel bad for MangaGamer and don't want them to undergo as much trouble as you seem to want. They're a small company, and, yes, mostly release eroge. However, if they are successful on Steam, we could see more all-ages Visual Novels, which, as a fan of Visual Novels who really dislikes eroge, couldn't possibly be bad thing.

No, those 2 arcs are from Kizuna. If we were talking about Matsuri's it wouldn't be a problem, I myself have the whole script of the game.

And wait, Yen press picking up Kataribanashi hen ? That would be pretty damn awesome. Do they have any plan for Hinamizawa Bus Stop ?

They're releasing Saikoroshi-hen next month, and have said in the past they aren't opposed to releasing more of the side stories. Nothing definite, but I hope they do.

As I know...

Originally, they were fanfictions which were sent to publisher (Gangan Comic) and selected by R07 himself (or he was one of the jugdes).
From over 2000, they chose around 40 stories.
The selected stories were published in form of a light novel collection (3 volumes in paperback and online reading).

Among 40, they chose 23 and requested artists for making them into comic (7 volumes).
Again, they chose 8 stories for Drama CDs (3 disks). And only one of them was made into a mobile novel game (it's "Limit").

It would be regrettable if Doddler loses his enjoyment of working on Higurashi products. It he doesn't like working on it, the change of getting fun stuff like the ability to swap sprite sets could be lost. It is not sure that we are going to get it, but it is because of Doddler's ingenuity and willingness that we get stuff like that.

See, this is what I was afraid of. Doddler's done nothing but good for the Higurashi port, has nothing to do with the creation of the new sprites, and is being mercilessly spammed nonetheless.

I can't really consider crying all around for a bit of skin on a sprite an hobby.

Wouldn't you consider what he's doing an actual hobby, and some people do just have a passion for certain things. I think even you can understand that.

The problem is that it can come at the cost of other people. MangaGamer could become tired of listing to the fans if they feel like they are only getting harassed by them. This will make it more difficult to make them listen to fan requests about different aspects..

MangaGamer has already made a public statement about the towel sprite, any further aggressive requests about the issue would just be harassment.

I hope if they are going to release Umineko on Steam they will offer the option to use the original sprite with that version. The comfort of Steam with the original experience by Ryukishi07.

Well, it would be nice to have an option with the old sprites, though I'm not going to use them. Even if I am a huge fan of Ryu's writing, I can't say the same about his art-style pre-Higanbana. Higanbana art was the best he did.
