Definitely an odd choice but not an unwelcome one. Though given Yumi's popularity, I'm surprised it's not her.

I think Miyabi may have been chosen because as a player character she'd be the most unique addition to the Index cast, the only person she may have overlapping with is Kakine at best and thats pretty unlikely, that and it may be because she "fits", other characters are implemented via cards and scenes though

There was also other series considered for the collab it seems, like Yakuza, Bayonetta, Million Arthur, Ys, Slam Dunk and Sakura Wars

From the latest dev blog of the Mobile MMO, I think it has some information people will want to see/know

The collab character doesn't stop with Miyabi, Yumi is actually the final part, but she will release in spring because her mechanics is new to the game entirely
OT scripting is almost done so all they need is voice actors to finish their roles
Misaki is done, she is very slow and figuring out how to use a remote control for a lot of things was pretty hard
OT15 development is still pretty slow, the amount of productions and scenes required is really too much but they are intent on doing it
Due to the delays they are wondering if they can do railgun plot in meantime, though they're not sure if players will accept that
New activities are also in production, expect a lot of things to do next year
Why is Accel behind the collab? Because he's more important, also he needs more tests
If crippled accel variation is so popular, they may consider doing White Wing Accel,Wheelchair Kuroko and Shift Mikoto and more (course they are not actually done, so don't take this seriously in the sense that we have them)

I want this game I haven't played Virtual On in forever. I am glad they added Othinus. I want my Kamisato Kakeru added to the game too.

Since we got info about Lessar's voice actress two days after the reveal of her debut on VO, expect the same thing to happen with Birdway and Othinus.

That means mark your calendars coz the reveal might happen on November 23.
