Great episode ... sound character development.

Btw. Did anyone notice that in the opening song, they keep changing the moving background images for each episode (check the Caliburn episode and it shows Saber vs. Berserker; if you look at the background in this one you can see the part with Illya as well as other scenes ). Also, Gilgamesh is no longer in shadows, nice little touches if you ask me

All right, I am a little bit confused here, maybe one of you can help me again.
Rin said (and I think more than once) that Saber is the strongest Servant. Then when we see Berserker, I think it is Iliya who tells us that Berserker is the strongest. Then Rider said that her NP was the strongest of all, and now you tell me Gil has the most powerful NP. Not to mention Saber told us she could not beat Gil in the last war. Archer on the other hand seemed pretty strong to me. Especially with that UBW (what ever that was, or how it is supposed to work. Was that an NP?)

I am totally confusedd about who is how strong. Or who should be how strong? Can the Servants strengh be generalized (I know their master counts a lot too, since this is their mana supply), and when yes, who is how strong now?

I just noticed it. Or to be correct, I just paid more attention to it. You are right, good thing. FSN owns.

Oh, and it's said that Saber is supposed to be the strongest CLASS of servant ... not necessarily the strongest servant (at least that's how I understood it).

About the episode: I loved it.

I loved the date, and honestly it's gonna piss me off to no end of Shirou doesn't give Saber the lion thing he bought her, or at least she doesn't stumble across it.

I'll storm Studio Deen and burn it to the ground.

As far as Shirou, honestly it's two theories:

I think Archer was what Shirou would become if Saber got the Holy Grail and he didn't force her to drink it. He becomes strong but more cold hearted about his duties.

However I'm cheering for the possibility that Saber sees the following and changes the destiny and Archer doesn't exist: anyone that pulled the sword out of the stone to save Britain and take the throne, would've suffered the same fate as her. Changing who it was at the time won't change history, but passing up on a chance to be with someone you love is something you shouldn't give up. In a way, she's wrong. She assumes Shirou is doing everything selflessly, when in fact, he's actually reasonably selfish. It's not that he doesn't want Saber to die, it's that he wants her to stay lol. It's understandable. Anyone here that wouldn't have feelings for her? ..................... Didn't think so

Makes me wonder why only 24 episodes. Is the series subjected to criticisms and the ratings dropped that badly in Japan? Wish it had 26 episodes to finish this series (or 2 episodes that are OVAs to explain the events in Fate/Stay Night).

it was plan with 24 Eps. It has nopthing to do with ratings. a lot of great shows only have 24eps. The 24Ep lenght probably has more to do with the budget then anthing else.

Wish the series had better animation from another studio like Gonzo or Madhouse, so we can see better fight sequences as it is an epic battle between servants (heroes).

either the story fits nicely into 24 eps or the series will be rushing towards the 24th eps...i hope it wont have a crappy ending with it being rushed and all...

Did I just saw Saber with her hair down in the preview?! I've been waiting to see Saber with her hair down every since I started watching the fsn.

This was a neat episode, with the dating, star wars in threatre, and the lion plushie. Heh, and Rin laughing her ass off, aha I actually laughed as well. This time im rooting for Shirou's decision to let Saber stay and getting to move on from her past. Seeing as how fsn is coming to a close soon, the animation and art will usually get back up there for the finale.

Loved the episode.
It is my favourite episode because of the great character development of both Shirou and Saber (and all the cute Saber scenes )

I have a good argument for Shirou, because Saber may not know.

"Saber, your people are still around. They remember you fondly too, albeit with a few narrative embellishments. Oh, and the dress is going to come as a bit of a shock."

Instead of going to the past with Saber, as someone previously suggested -- before antibiotics, central heating, and downloadable porn -- he could talk Saber into staying and moving with him to contemporary Britain. Heck, bring Rin and Ilya. They probably own property there. She could be a super-heroine of sorts: fight crime, defend the realm against external threats, and tame football hooligans.

hey football hooligans in the UK are the thing of the past the 1980s and early 1990's, last world cup and euro cup, we where very well behaved =D

ANyway having Saber as a UK superhero would be quite cool =D, but i dont think Shirou's ability to produce blades would be welcome by the police.

Anyone notice that all of the girls were European? Saber is English, Rider and Caster were Greek. Heck, even Illya is German. Rin is the only eastern one (although isn't she British born also?).

If Shirou uses UBW, I want Saber to dual wield Excalibur and Caliburn. That'd be funny.

Studio DEEN is capable of making impressing battles , they just need more money for that . :P No money = reused footage .
