I found this episode to be a good one anyway. Since I got to know abit more about the story. I gave it a 8. And ofcourse, the hot fighting scean with saber and lancer. And I got to know lancers identety! I never knew

What was the curse of the lancer's gae bulga when it hit Saber? Like, what effect does it have? I hope it doesn't hinder Saber's performance too much :\. I haven't played the game so I don't know.

it was not a curse. i think you didn't listen carefully to what saber said after she got hit.

Gáe Bolg is a spear that can always pierce the opponent's heart.

Its truth is a reversal of the cause and effect, where the cause of firing the spear to the opponent is guided AFTER the result of spear directly hitting the opponent's heart is determined.

Since the the spear has already hit the heart before it's thrust, it is useless trying to guard or dodge it. In order to avoid the Gáe Bolg, high luck is important to reverse the fate before hand, which Saber has.

There is no other effect given other than the wound that Saber now has (which shirou cannot heal.. ~_~)

Basically in RPG terms, Gae Bolg is a Called Shot to the heart with 100% accuracy, and can not be blocked/dodged by any means. It can only be avoided if the target succeeds their Luck roll.

Episode 3 was alright...At least it explained a whole load and stopped the confusion for those who know nuts about the rules of the Grail War. The action wasn't too bad as well.

Next fight: Berserker vs Saber. Can't wait.
