None of the above, really. They all died for a reason. If they didn't die, then it would make the story cheesy and such. If anything, however, I would must rather have had Hayate live as he was pretty cool in the Chunnin Exam, but I wouldn't care either way, though.

Haku;
He was Zabuza's tool and could have played a better role later in the story.

Sarutobi;
He gave his best for the village. It would have been fitting for them both to die.

and the good guys need to die more....I am relieved that ONE of the good guys will die in the upcoming series, but comon, this show has too many good characters already...

A lot of people are saying Kimi...personally I think he died at exactly the right time. If left in the series, he would have been either A) far too powerful, or B) diminished to fall into the series better. The only one I was really bummed about was Hayate.

Haku should not have died, he really wasn't even a bad guy. If Naruto told him that the leaf ninja could use a ninja like him, maybe he wouldn't have gone off and killed himself for Zabuza. Haku could have easily ended up like Gaara, being an enemy at first and then becoming an ally.

I think one of the sound four could've standed surviving. Tayuya didn't even look dead after Temari blasted her with the fan.

I would dream to have Tayuya reappear in the series.....she is the only one who actually uses "sound" to attack in the whole "sound villege". Unlikely though, the naruto scriptwriters tend to be quite cruel to antagonists ><
