TCMP is free and a hundred times better than RealPlayer, and it could even playback avi files from a CD with no problem at all in my grandparents' PC, which is an old Pentium II 800 Mhz with a default integrated video card and 128 MB of RAM. I don't see how RealPlayer can benefit you when using an old PC.

The only "stuff" that TCMP contains are codecs. And you can choose not to install them. I believe that by "stuff" he was referring to spyware/adware automatically installed along with the player.
