There is actualy a BIG chance that that might NOT happen..., since I guess from the little I know, Shirou does NOT make a UBW in the 'Fate' end...

But this could easily change.., and the aspect you previously mencioned in the spoiler gives me more hope to belive that there is still a very, Very small possibility for it to happen; but a possibility never the less.

Despite the ups&downs that Fate-Stay has had.., I definitly think I speak on behalf of most when I say that everyone would absolutly enjoy seeing Shirou make his UBW and thus coming to a more solid conclusion in relation to Archer.

With this down there are only 3 more to go so.., start praying people.., maybe.., 'just maybe' it can still happen

It actualy to me seems a combination of both.., but that can be just specific camera angles.
What I mean by this is.., when we are seeing Archer, in the back we see the Gears in the UBW, thus making it Archer's UBW.

Altough the atmosphere is still brighter, and when the jump to Shirou attacking with Caliburn, there are no Gears in the back ; which would mean they where in Shirou's UBW.

But like I said.., given the angles.., its most probable its Archer's UBW in the end.

Even if Shirou makes his UBW in the series though,
To me now it seems that that scene in the OP is just purely for emphasis on the development of the characters ; as in maybe giving some more background to the Archer x Shirou relation in the 'UBW' scenario.

Altough I could be compleatly rong.., if Shirou does indeed make his UBW.., who knows what can happen ^^

hmm so the ppl changed the literall translation from japanese to english quite a bit...the last 2 sentences of the literall translation is depressing...

IMHO, is more like this:

a weapons need no meaning to fight, only be tought and defeat the oponent...

I don't live for myself, I live for the ones I protect... as long as I can fight for that; I don't care if my life is meaningless...

I remember a song having a similar line... "If I can't save someone my life isn't worth living..." Saving the ones he love is the only tyhing that gives Shirou's life meaning.

Does anyone actually think that, based on the preview, the anime will be done with the Fate route by the next episode and maybe the final 2 will be pure UBW goodness ?

Anyone else feel that them kissing acutally makes it more beleiveable that Saber will leave in the end and no hope for an alternative ending? It gives a kind of feeling that it will be a remebered connection between them now more then something that will tie them together.

Saber needs to realize that in the hands of someone else, that someone else would have made even worse mistakes than she did, and that life's too short for regrets, even a servant's. Her life is in the present, not back then. That life was fulfilled to the best of her abilities.

Maybe the scene where Shirou summoned UBW. But it only make sense when he is fighting Gilgamesh mano-o-mano to counter his Gate of Babylon. In Fate story, Saber supposed to have a final closure in her relation to Gilgamesh.

If Saber leave in the anime and went to fulfill her destiny in the end, then she achieve her pathos as a hero of legendary times with peace in her soul. It is a fitting, beautiful ending.

How did Saber recover so fast? Did Shirou's imaging that scabbard provide a mana link to herso he gave her some?

Saber trying to cut vegetables was LOL. Two handed knife technique and she was serious about it XD
