Ghosts? I am not a total disbeliever, I tend to go with the idea that when we die that's it.......you're dead. nothing else. no spirit that lives on....

But again I still defidently think there's a possibiity. As for your story, i too am skeptical. The only ghost stories that I would ever believe are the ones where there is JUST a sighting (but then why would a ghost ever be visible?).

I don't think that if there are really ghosts that they would be able to choke you or hurt you in any way. Why? because they wouldn't be made up of matter. The body is still burried somewhere.

That's why, although I am a Christian (haven't gone through confirmation yet. don't know if i really want to belong in a religion.), I don't really believe everything he Bible tells us. I tend to go with [science > religion.] because science is backed up with FACTS, and the Bible is made up of things writen by people that we don't know, and has been handed down for centuries. Who knows if that is even the origianl accountings of what happened? Jesus walking on water could've been jesus swimming into the water to save somebody. But through the generations, the tale semed to change. The basis of our whole religion could just be a tall tale.

As for the Ouiji (how do do you spell it) board, that's all a bunch of hoo-haw. If the thinger really does move, it's because inside your mind you really wanted it to say something, and involuntary muscle movements from your brain caused your hand to move there. The other person just goes along. I tried the board with my cousin once, and we spent a long while waiting only to find out that absolutely nothing had happened. How long are you supposed to site there?

If these things actually DID happen to you, I don't think it would be possible to look back, laugh, and say "I was scared because I was so young." Are you saying that if in the middle of the night you felt "something" choking you, you wouldn't be scared? Of course you would. I don't think anybody truly wouldn't.

I quickposted on the first page not realizing a couple others had already gone by. :P And (2) While I didn't believe it, I didn't find your stories entertaining (not like, humorous. It kept my interest. . It was also slightly scary, I'll admit.

Alright I read the other pages. Whoever said "cused basketball! cursed violin!" I have this to say: truer words have never been spoken.

I DID go through this weird spell of hallucinations, but they were always at night when I was tired. One actully happned long before the spell. I was but a lad and I was sleeping with my parents. There was a picture of me on the wall that I would stare at. Everyonce in a while I would see it twich or move, but it never stayed i that position and you couldn't really tell if it moved t all. I could've sworn my hand went up and I heard the words "hi." That scared me a bit but I later dismissed them as the result of being tired.

A couple years ago some weird "eye-tricks" happend everynight I would close my eyes for a couple mintues and then open them and look at the blank wall across from my room and see weird stuff. Like one time the wall was almost bubbling, another time it was swirling. And then there was the sillohette of a ballerina on my wall that kind of flew around my room. They stopped happening about a week later.

Knowsnothing I have to check your birthday after reading your post, as you are a Christian I recommend The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis, good reading.

I suggest you lay off the occult, had the ouji board worked for you you will have a greater belief in the supernatural. Is that not a good reason why it didn't work?

i thought this will be a good thread to get revived, since Halloween is coming ...

ar~ i am too excited XD

anyways, here is the story, it happened to a friend of a friend of mine....

it's Friday night, school just ended for George, he figured he will stay over night playing PC games~ [no thunder, no rain, a pleasant night as usual]... he took a bath, grab a drink, and sit infront of the desktop in the living room, playing Everquest..... as midnight passes, George refused to go to sleep, he stay up till around 2 am or so~ right when he is so into the game, he felt a soft tab on his right shoulder, he felt a slight uncomfortable, and mummured" stop it... " and the tab was gone.~ so George continue his game, Yet a few minutes later, he felt another tab on his shoulder, this time, both of his shoulders felt it, and he was thinking~ "who the heXX... " and he yank his neck around to see who tab their hands on him.... and to his horror....

he saw 2 feets hanging out of nowhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tabing up and down on this shoulder for the whole time...

George was horrified and ran his way back to his room as fast as he can...... and wouldn't dare to play over night games for a few years...

It is a true story~ it happened to a friend of a friend of mine.

I didnt know this one existed! I remember once I told Lani a story that happened to my dad, and I thought it would be great to create a thread about scary stories ^_^ Ill read the whole thing and Ill come back with it.

The folowing accounts are narrated by different people.
(Pulau Tekong is the name of an island where our military personel go to to receive their training)

I heard this story from my army mates back in late 1980s, whom I believe may have belonged to the time when this event occurred. The story should have occurred just a few years before I heard about it.

It was said that in Pulau Tekong, there was a rout march conducted for a group of army recruits. That day they rested somewhere, and when they were about to set off, 1 particular recruit said he needed to rest a while more, and asked the rest of his comrades to go ahead.

After awhile when that platoon realized that that recruit did not catch up with them, they went back to the place they left him. He wasn’t there.

Then they searched in vain, reported back to camp about the missing recruit, and the entire camp searched the island in vain.

The body was found after the 2nd or 3rd day, just below a tree, very near the place where they last left him. There was no wound to be found on him. He was lying facedown.

They did not know how he died, or why they couldn’t find him in the first place, so near their last resting place.

I did not know, nor am aware of any connection of my story to the 3rd door bunk, which I am not aware of.

Being a army officer stationed in Pulau Tekong, I (Platoon commander Colin, formerly of Delta Company Camp 1) had to take special induction training courses in order to perform my duties as a platoon commander.

In one special session, which I unfortunately missed, but my fellow officers told me, it involved a Mindef Directives on not conducting training on Thursday nights. The reasons cited included an increased risk in accidents, injuries and incidents occurring in Thursday Trainings in the evening. The session included an actual case study of a mysterious death of an army recruit. The incident supposedly occurred in the 1970s.

Basically it involved the incident of a recruit who went missing halfway through a route march. First the platoon, then the company, then the camp, and eventually the entire island was mobilized to look for him. They found him the next day, with his body disemboweled, along the route of the route march.

I am aware there is a 3 door bunk in Charlie Company. I am not aware there is a connection with this story I just mentioned. I believe that the 3 door could have been built for a reason, whether paranormal or not.

I was a recruit in Pulau Tekong back in 1994.

It was during preparation for my BMT Pass-out parade, I was one of the few 'volunteers' who enter the infamous Charlie Company Bunk with the 3rd door to help carry out some stores. The bunk was converted into a store room during that time.

The third 'door' was actually a thin wooden plank, painted blue at that time. It had no knobs, padlocked & not in good condition.

It is said that though the lights is off every night, it would be ‘on’ every morning. It is also reported that every morning recruits entering the store would find human hair on its floor.

This is my version of the story.

A platoon while on a route march realise at the end of the march that a certain recruit was missing. He was found dead, with the chankol blade embedded in his body.

The body was sent back to the mainland. But the next few nights those sleeping near the deceased recruit bed would be affected by strange happenings. Finally a Chinese priest was consulted. The priest said that the spirit of the recruit couldn’t follow the body back to Singapore, as it couldn’t cross the water, and after ‘investigations, suggested opening the 3rd door at the bunk, to ‘release’ his spirit.

The bunker in Pulau Tekong looked exactly like the bunks in BCTC Pasir Lada Camp.

It dosen't matter if you believe in ghosts or not ultimately, especially with reference to this thread- You don't have to believe in ghosts to enjoy a good ghost story

but my story is this.
on one night, i woke up in my bed and decided to get a cup of water.
i went to the fridge and got water, and was heading back.
and suddenly on my way back, i heard these voices of little kids singing outside.
and i looked out the window and saw no one.
maybe those damn kids were trying to freak people out or something.

So here I go! (Im still a bit scared by the first one >_<! damn Im such a coward)...forgive my english, I sometimes suck when telling long stories.

My dad was born in a little country town, one of those towns that doesnt have over 100 people so everyone knows everyone. Its a cold town, its above 3000 meters over sea level iirc, its a very nice town and I love going there, people are great and the landscapes you can catch on the trip are simply awesome! Well, this happened one night...

My dad was little, around 11, and he was sleeping over his aunt's house. Now this house is one of those old colonial houses typical from towns in Colombia, these houses are builded around a central uncovered garden which is kind of big. Around these gardens there are the rooms, the kitchen, etc. Well, so my dad was asleep in a room that he was sharing with his cousins and other people (families are very close here, specially in the past, its not weird having all aunts and uncles living in the same house) and suddenly we woke up and had a huge urge to go to the bathroom. It was very late, so obvioulsy he was scared as hell, but he had to go anyway, the thing is that the bathrooms in this houses are really far away from the bedrooms, he did not only had to cross the garden but I think he actually had to almost exit the house in order to get there. My poor dad scared to death went as fast as he could, and when we was returning he saw something...it was a tall figure of which it seemed to be a woman, but this woman was very tall, almost 2 meters (around 7 feets) and she kept smiling at him, so he started to go back to the bedroom, trying to not cross where she was standing, but he never stopped looking at her, once he was back in the garden, she entered the house trough the principal gate, and although the gate was too low for her to cross she crossed anyway, which freak out my dad even more, my dad never stopped seeing where she was until he finally got in the room, then he woke up one of his cousins and start saying to her "look, theres someone outside" she didnt bother and said to him "go back to sleep and stop being annoying", so he climbed into the bed, lay back and when he turned his face...... the woman was there! simling at him, right next to him like if she was laid there, my dad fainted.

He woke up the other day very very late (around noon) which is very odd in a town like this and specially in this old times.

note: my dad is terribly exceptic about these things, but of course he cant explain what happen.

Apparently the owners of the house pictured at this site had been seeing images and hearing voices for quite a while.

They did some research and found that a lady once lived in the house that lost her husband during the civil war. Legend says that she used to sit at the table and look across the fields in anticipation of her loved one
returning home. He never came. So, they say she still waits.

They caught this photo of what they claim to be her.

This is wild and a little spooky once you find the ghost in the picture. It takes a few seconds to find it, but when you do, it just stands out. Like one of those optical illusions.

To save you some time, concentrate around the table. Best not to focus too much on one spot. Look around the table and toward the window.

Okay, I have a story. It was back when I was young and my mom lost her job. She was really protective of me and she didn't want me living at the homeless shelter while she found work, so she sent me to live with my grandma. I believe my grandma is a nice lady, but she is a bit demanding and scornful if people don't follow her rules. I've always been the most submissive person in my family, so i'm the only person in my immediate family that thinks that.

It was June 1995, about a week into summer vacation. So that ment I could stay up watching late night talk shows (not that i didn't do that during the school year, but now i didn't feel guilty about staying up past bedtime.) David Letterman was almost over, so it was pretty late for a 9 year old (almost 10) to be awake. My grandma was visiting with her sister and said she would be back almost an 2 hours ago. I didn't mind being there alone, it was better than being bored to death listening to old ladies talk about past husbands and cooking shows.

Suddenly, i heard a tapping on the window. Normally i would just assume that the wind was slapping a tree branch against the side of the house, so i didn't bother looking up. It went on for a few minutes. I payed no attention, just laughed along to the television.

It was the last commercial break until the end of the show and a weather forcast said there was little chance for rain and no wind across the midwest. It took a few minutes to put 2 and 2 together, but if there was no wind, then the tree wasn't hitting the house.

My heart jumped and I immediatly darted my eyes to the window. The tapping stopped. I focused my eyes through the darkness. Straining myself to see what was out there. "Just a raccoon," I assured myself and resumed watching tv, darting my eyes to the window now and then.

I realised I was making a big deal out of this for nothing and I wouldn't enjoy the rest of the show anyway, so I walked across the hallway and got my sleeping bag out of the closet. Before I got back to the living room with my sleeping bag, I heard the tapping start again. But when i got there, I saw a ghostly figure standing outside. It looked like a young girl in her teens, wearing a white lace night gown. Her eyes were tired and she had dark black circles around her eyes. She had long black hair and pale skin. She didn't look quite right, she looked almost ethereal.

I froze in terror. I didn't think she noticed me even tho I couldn't help but stare at her. She just kept tapping.

I think I swolloed to hard or maybe the floor creeked, but all i know is she noticed me. Her eyes shot open wide enough to see her white. She jerked her head toward me so fast I jumped. She just stared at me, no more tapping..... I stood there, gazing into her eyes for what felt like an eterinity. I couldn't see her move, it was as if she was a statue or some sort of snake, staring at its prey. I started to whimper and prayed that she would go away.

Then, her passiveness became agressive. She slammed herself against the window and pressed against the glass. I jumped and nearly fell backwards. "Let me in," she said. And i can still remember that voice. Rough and deep, yet still feminine, but a bit shaky.

I shook my head and tried to say I couldn't, that I wasn't allowed, something, or anything that might make her leave. I was too scared. I couldn't make noise come out of my mouth.

"Let me in," she insisted, a bit louder than before. I said nothing. I did nothing. She then began pounding on the window.

I ran behind the couch and started to cry. I was thankful I always locked the doors, because I wouldn't have the courage right now to do anything else.

She then started screaming "LET ME IN! LET ME IN!" Each time she said it, her voice got louder and more deep. It was as if she was growing larger. The pounding got louder too. She was screaming so loud I had to cover my ears. I didn't know what to do, I was too afraid to move from that spot. The sound was banging through my head, so loud it must have woken the neiborhood. I hide there hoping somebody would call for help or rescue me.

I lay there behind the couch, crying, crying until I was too exhausted to stay awake. I remember waking up the next moring by my grandma. She asked why I was hiding there. I told her my story. But i was hystarical. She calmed me. told me it was just a dream. The she would have heard something if this happened. I tried to tell her this happened before she got home, but she said she never left. That her sister had to cancel. I asked around the neiborhood... nobody said they heard anything unusual that night. I wasn't dreaming. I didn't fall asleep behind the couch in a puddle of my own tears for no reason... I could never explain what happened that night.

A friend of mine who studies this stuff, calls me a "spirtual lightening rod". Now I don't have a resident ghost but I live less than a 1/2 mile from a giant cemetary. What I do have is what I call foot traffic.

1. I awoke one night literally being smothered by a black presence(That is the best way I can describe it.) Kind of like a black void or heavy fog with a completely evil feeling to it. I literally could not breathe or move. As a christian I knew what to do, but I kid you not it took a few minutes and then it slowly receded like fog wifting away. I was so freaked out I could not return to sleep and had to get up and turn on the lights.

2. Sometimes after my husband goes to bed and I am watching anime he will come back out and sneak up behind me to scare me. Works well. So not to long back, I was sitting here watching Aishiteruze Baby and I saw his shadow on the screen as he snuck up. So I waited I was gonna catch him at the last moment. So I waited for like 15 seconds, and nothing, the hair on the back of neck stood up and I turned around to see what stopped him and no one was there. I went to check on him and he was sound asleep.

3. I had just laid down to go to sleep. My husband was gone for the night and the kids were all asleep and all of a sudden a voice right next to me says "SHUT UP!" Scared me so bad I literally came off the bed. Of course no one was there. I called people crying I was so freaked out

Sometimes also when I am up late by myself, I will hear one of the kids come running down the hall and even catch a flash of flesh color out of the corner of my eye, but no one is ever there, and I have checked and the kids are all asleep. This one does not freak me out so bad because I know it is children.
