The religion here is like in Kuro no Maoh; they are complete evil little sh!ts and the ruling class is hardly any better, along with all the evil schemes in the kingdom, coupled with evil schemes in other countries and on top of that adding the evil(?) magic race it feels a little bit of an overkill; it feels like there is no way out nor any future for humanity
Yuusha's party :
Baka Yuusha : conceinted brat who basically got where he is due to family connections, supposedly "
decent on strength", but the mc beats him up onesidedly; the more he gets beat up the sh!ttier person he becomes, so it escalates quickly.
Baka Fighter : typical musclehead, seems like can learn from mistakes and probably is not a bad guy.
Pettanko Witch : intelligent but impulsive type, usually squables with baka fighter.
Konyuu Priestess : the '
head on the shoulders' of the party; smart, cool and quick on wits, she is clearly aware that the party as it is won't be able to beat neither the maoh nor the ritual trials that the yuusha is expected to clear. Childhood friend of baka yuusha, she became super worried when she heard he was beaten down, but a part of her was grateful, since he got less conceinted and started training more seriously; so she thinks it's good that he was given a seatback that pushes maturity early. Really hopes that baka yuusha eventually becomes a true hero that will save the day and happarently doesn't know the bad stuff he does; secretly wishes to save people and secretly mourns that the country and church is full of sh!t. Oh, and as many other priest heroines, she follows the tradition of "
fall from the sky into the MC's life".
(yuusha and konyuu don't seem to like each other; and they keep growing stranded as things go on).
(except from the heroine, the MC's party feels like a cooler, more adult version of the baka yuusha's party
