Eh? Now I'm confused...which version should I read? >.<

the tankouben (volume book) version is the same the serialized manga version, just with the addition of an epilogue. They are the same manga, except the tankouben has one extra epilogue chapter at the end of the last volume. What I was saying is just that I heard some manga fans claiming the addition of the epilogue is bad.

For anime ending vs. tankouben epilogue, I've seen many arguments on both side

Azmaria leaves Rosette's room and has a talk with Elizabeth. She tells her that Rosette doesn't have much time left. Rosette calls Az and Joshua to her side and makes them promise something to her (something along the lines of living their life to the fullest, or something similar). Some months later (according to Azmaria) Rosette died, and Az and Joshua are seen in Rosette's funeral, holding hands...

Fast forward to 1999. Satella (YES, YOU READ WELL, SATELLA IS ALIVE!!!) looking almost the same, except she now has modern clothes, receives a gift from Azmaria (who is now very old). It's the picture from the carnival, that Azmaria has been keeping. (But why is Satella alive? Answer: Satella and Fiore were "frozen in time" and their bodies fell to the sea when Pandemonium was destroyed. Their frozen bodies were washed ashore in 1996, and she was later "defrozen" by some scientists.) Satella then goes to the Magdalan Order, and goes to visit Rosette's grave (the grave reads: Rosette Christopher, 1908 - 1932). She puts flowers in Rosette's grave, and tells her something about being grateful to her, because "they" (Rosette and Chrno) created a bright new future for everybody. She promises Rosette that she will live her life in the best way possible, always looking at the future. She then leaves, not noticing that Fiore was looking at her from a distace. Sheda (she's alive too, and was probably the one who "defroze" Fiore), asks Fiore if she's worried about Satella, and Fiore says no. She then says goodbye to Satella in her mind...

Back to 1931... Rosette has a talk with Remington inside a church. (Remington looks very old, but still looks handsome) Remington says goodbye to her and leaves, and Rosette is left alone. Rosette thinks about Chrno, and tells him in her thoughts that she was still waiting for him, and that he was the reason she was still battling against time. Then suddenly, Rosette falls, and starts feeling very bad. Rosette falls on her knees before the altar, and begs Chrno to come to her....... then.... (GET YOUR KLEENEX READY!)

The door of the church opens. Rosette is surprised, and turns to look at the entrace...

Chrno is standing by the doorway. He has long hair now, he lost his horns (and a part of his right arm) and looks very worn out, but looks very happy....

Rosette starts to cry in disbelief.... Chrno starts running towards her... Rosette starts to run to him too, with her arms outstretched.... Chrno opens his arms and smiles at her....

Rosette jumps into Chrno's embrace, crying tears of joy.

After reading the synopsis for the extended manga ending (and I dunno about the original manga ending) it seems better than the anime ending. The scene with Rosette and Chrno on the porch is touching but after that it got so negative, and (I dunno if I'm going too far) kind of satanic in nature IMO. This manga ending had none of the stuff about no hope in the world and God is unfair sort of thing. Unless I haven't read all the details.

Read the epilouge. Its ties up all the loose ends that the last chapter tossed out and answers the question whether Rosette and Chrno were reunited. Well, they were, and it was tastefully done. It is realistic and not a cop out, though I can understand why some fans would grumble that it is a cop out at the last.

There is no hope for the world, read Lord of the Flies (read it in school in Canada i think) God is not fair, look what happend last Sunday...

edit: The anime ending is so much better, in my opinion. Not all the main characters die, that singing girl lived

Probably not, since in the manga Rosette die too. That possibility is close, but it could've been intersting to see what happen next.

Well, can anyone tell me what is the differences compare to the manga??? I never read it before...... But I kind of like the ending a bit.... It's so sad, yet peaceful (when they found Rosette and Chrno).

Yeah the manga's ending was much better than the anime's. The anime's wasn't bad...Just tragic. Now Moriyama is talented.

Chrno Crusade is his first manga (well, don't really see him releasing anymore new titles after this). If you have read his 'author's corner' where he talk about himself and things happen around him, you'd know he's quite a funny guy.

I love how he said because his family (as in parents, not wife and children since he is not married yet) are buying his manga to read as well, so he try to keep the amount of echiiness to the minimal, despites he really want to include more of it in the manga XD

I must say I love Chrno Crusade, and especially the manga. It was much better than the ending in anime.
I have read the epilouge of the manga, but most of the loose ends are tied up

Chrno Crusade, both the manga and the anime, were extremely sad. I loved both, and it'll always be one of my most favorite anime series.

There is a completely different ending (besides the fact that Rosette dies)... But about half through the Manga series... that would be books 5,6,7,and 8... are completely different plots to the video series... Video Series: It would be cool to have a sequal because it could be about Azmaria, since Rosette and Chrono died.

it would be pointless to have another series. The series is over 3 years old, and the endings leave off 50 years into the future, where Azmaria would be old.

But, it would be cool if Chrno and Rosette got resurrected again.

It was several years after the last fight between Aion and Chrno. I really can't understand this. It makes no sense at all because he would probably would die for seeing Rosette on last time before her life span runs out. And one more thing; Chrno has such a bad destiny. Both the woman who he fells in love with dies on order to save him. I believe this destiny is worser than death. I can't imagine how Chrno can live on... __________________ Tralle!
