Granted, having a few more episodes to produce might have also negatively impacted the production, so there may not have been an ideal solution.

I'm kind of pissed off because this episode was good, and looking at the staff, it's the same one that worked on episode 0. It's giving me a headache the difference of quality between this and previous episode. I just hope for all that's precious to Nasu Solomon gets the episode 0 staff+the episode 18 action director and doesn't have the same series director from Babylonia.

I wasn't expecting to see Quetzacoatl again, but that it was nice to see her again and get a more pleasant sendoff. Jaguarman sitting the final battle out to save Kuku was well worth it, and Quetzacoatl is just that awesome that she was able to survive all that without all her power .
Kuku looks surprisingly nice without some of her regalia . What I wouldn't have given to see Quetzacoatl put Merlin in a joint lock. Merlin's reaction at the possibility that she was still around was priceless . I love how Ritsuka is on-point about what Quetzacoatl said before but Mash is the one who still remembers her talking about marrying Ritsuka . Merlin and Roman seem to really enjoy talking @#$% to each other . Merlin, for all his talk of not caring for humans and love of just their collective story as a race, found himself enamored with and becoming attached to our Ritsuka Fujimaru. Ritsuka might be the first human who has garnered Merlin's attention since Artoria. Enough to where he'd forego his self-imposed exile in Avalon to help out. So no matter how tough things get from here on out or what they have to face, Ritsuka can always count on his biggest fan Merlin watching from above . That was a fitting sendoff for Gilgamesh. He recalled Enkidu and the time Enkidu learned about what Gilgamesh truly sought to achieve as a king, and how that friendship and experience helped him learn to become a better king and a better human being. And he got to see off Chaldea with respect and pride at what Uruk accomplished and what humanity will continue to accomplish. After imparting wise words to Ritsuka and Mash, he says goodbye the only way Gilgamesh could . Only Gilgamesh could offer ale to minors, drink it himself, and then toss it to our heroes...and all this time it was the Holy Grail . Our heroes barely just get back to Chaldea and already they're taking the fight to Solomon. It's Endgame time . Quote:

I'm not sure what needs to be covered. Servant and singularity references? They are kind of extras and some of the important bits were covered in episode 0 of Babylonia already along with foreshadowing crammed every time certain someone was on screen.

Hahah, no. I'd rather have them doing Shimosa or Salem next if they want to do 1 5. Or go for the Part 2.

That was a really good episode. I'm happy they took the time to give the major character a proper send-off. The Gilgamesh flashbacks were particularly great.
There is one that bothered me though. Did Mash turn invisible or something? The only one that seemed to acknowledge her existence was Ritsuka. I don't recall any of the other characters directly speaking to her in this episode. Everything was about Ritsuka (Romani also got in some good banter with Merlin). I thought Thess would be the first to comment on that.

That dragged on a bit for me, with how they first said good-bye to Quetz and Jaguar then Merlin then Gil. Especially with how rushed some earlier battles were. The game just had them all meet up in one place after it was all over. And I'm a bit sad they skipped some of the funnier things like Quetz getting payback on Merlin for his earlier trick (not surprised, with how this adaptation has been, but still).
Happy to hear they're adapting Solomon, but after how serious this series has been, I'm a bit wary of how they'll adapt it. I wish they had done some things differently but overall not bad series, I'm just happy to see a FGO animated series. Now just have to hope they handle the grand finale decently. There's probably enough content for at least six episodes, but stretching it out to 10-12 episodes might be too much. Well, here's hoping. |

It's thanks to the storyboard person (who also worked on episode 0). The production just messed up during the episodes that they should be more cautious and this is frustrating as a fan who goes from a great episode (ep 18) to wtf rushed and incomprehensible mess in the most awaited scenes (episodes 19-20) to the meh ending turned into really nice stuff now. I thought Gilgamesh addressed both of them in the episode, so that's what mattered. Like the addition of his tale about how he searched for immortality all his life only to realize his mistake, in the end, is very good considering what's animated next.

You can improve Septem, the outline plot is fine (what if there was a United Eternal Roman Empire to replace Nero's reign which marks the beginning of the decay of Rome?), it's just some of the cast allies characterization that was off and that random Stheno island chapter. Turas Realta mangaka did a phenomenal job to tweak Okeanus (which was all right but the adapted version improved it on some many levels):
Spoiler for Some Turas Realta Okeanus changes spoilers:
