That's surprising. I thought he'd adapt the Broly movie. Having a brand new story will probably increase interest in the manga though, so not a bad move.

17 is the last one standing like in the anime, but the reason provided is a lot better here. It was all part of he and Frieza's plan. He merely pretended to blow himself up (he comments he actually can't do it since the bomb was removed by Krillin at the end of the Cell saga) and hid until the end. Since he has no ki to be sensed, he managed to remain undetected.

Everything involving Frieza in this arc has been great. Him manipulating Frost, and now this.

The Broly arc is summed up in one page, and then the next arc starts right after the final scene of the Broly movie. The galactic patrol is after Buu because they need the Great Kaoishin's power. We're probably going to find out more about him!

Hope they dont put any of those characters from Xeno or Heroes. It will literally turn crap.

Should it really be that easy to hit Goku with a gun? Or is it just that because he can't sense it before it hits him?

Anyway, it's good that Super is continuing. I wonder if we'll ever see Goku master Ultra Instinct. I'd like to see it.

It really shouldn't. Just like what's his name's laser shouldn't have almost killed him either in RoF.

Vegeta also gets knocked out afterward, by the way. They should have gotten that galactic patrol guy for the tournament of power if he can speed blitz the likes of Goku and Vegeta.

I don't know if I'd call it nerfing them since they were just in their base form (so nowhere near as bad as the RoF thing), but the intention was definitely to hype the number 1 patrolman. It sounds like they could have just talked it out instead.

Whether or not the gun should work is up to anyone's appreciation. Guns have received even bigger power-ups than Goku and Vegeta in Super
Let's not forget that Goku was hurt by a normal gun just before the ToP, which was totally dumb since he could tank bullets and survive rockets when he was just a kid with a power level below 200.

@Kanon: Yeah, guns shouldn't be able to hurt or even hit Goku or Vegeta. Doesn't make any sense for them to.

But yeah, like Adrian said, there was a "No weapons allowed" rule in the ToP. That patrolman would've been useless.

Just because he uses a weapon doesn't mean he's useless without one. He has speed, and characters who have speed usually have power to go with it. Remember when Trunks used his sword to kill Frieza and King Cold thought it was only thanks to it he was able to beat him? It ended very badly for him.

The Patrolman is further hyped when Jaco tells Goku the guy's in charge of 104 districts, whereas Jaco himself is in charge of 3.

Wonder who the bad guy they want to beat is that they require the Great Lord of Lords for. And if this is after the Broly movie, does that mean the movie is already out? But this manga might also get ahead of the anime with this.

And apparently, them having to fight Broly was because of something Frieza did? I want to know more, so I really want to watch that movie now.

The movie will come out next month in Japan, which is why Toyotaro avoided spoiling it. There's been an early screening though, so there are already complete summaries of the movie out. We've been talking about it in the anime thread.

Not much to add about the chapter. It was really good. My only issue is that they provided no explanation why the Zenos allowed 17 to make that wish and nullify the whole tournament. What's stopping them from erasing the Universes again?

The bit about Jiren's master having been killed by a demon and Angels being unable to revive demon victims was interesting. Smells like a set-up for a future arc.

Yeah, and if there is it'll probably be good. I just hope the anime and manga both handle it well.

And yeah, you're right about the no explanation thing. The anime did better on that.

Just the natural order of things

Yeah, but because this series is anime-first, the anime should stay ahead. Normally the manga comes first so it stays ahead, but here that's not the case.

It's not a case of the manga being based on the anime or the other way around. They're both based on Toriyama's outline, it doesn't matter which is ahead. When the anime inevitably comes back, it will probably catch up to the manga pretty fast.
