To be specific - they occured in the same universe, but in different time. Schwarzesmarken in the 1984 and Total Eclipse in 2001

That's just how muv luv is... fortunately there will be 2 routes on the visual novel that differ from the LN so maybe some of the girls will live on those routes.

I've been watching the anime, and I must admit that I'm fairly confused. I have some questions.

How is the anime related to the light novels? I think they're adapting them all in one cour, right?

Did the light novels end?

What's this about visual novels and different routes?

The light novels are finished and yes, they are trying to compress them in one cour. There is a vn that has the first part already released but the second one will multiple routes, probably because everybody who knows how the ln ended wish it had a different ending.

Yes, there are chances that on one of the 2 routes of the VN that differ from the one of the LN Lise might live. But i wouldn't count on it since it's muv-luv we're talking about.
