I hope Sega announces Phantasy Star Online 2, or I'm gonna be pissed.

In the case of FF VS 13, I think the lack of that game has something to do with this (I wonder why no one has started a new thread for this game yet).

Can't see the link, but judging from the replies I'm assuming it's the new Dissidia that was recently announced.

I doubt that that game is slowing down the development of FFvs13. They're two different teams, and I know that Nomura is involved with Dissidia but he's not the director or anything. However IF that game is what truly is slowing down FFvs13 I'd be really mad and really disappointed. Square needs to learn to finish one step before they take another.

Hmm, if Macross F Hybrid Pack had at least English subtitles for the movie I would consider buying it but like this, I'm not so sure. I am looking forward to Castlevania : Lords of Shadow, Dead Rising 2 and Catherine though. Only problem is that I don't go broke by the end of the year.

You know what this calls for, yea you bet

One of the comments caught my attention, that the story shouldn't involve Welkin and Alicia's offspring but I get the feeling that might be the case.
I might want to see that on some level...I suspect that level being just for the sake of seeing what kinda hawtie she's grown up to be but I don't think I'd actually want that cliche to happen.

I won't mind bringing back Welkin or Alicia and many others but I don't want to see it be soemthing like Welkin's kid joining up to fight and her having some sorta romance with some other newb.....as much as it worked in the first I don't think it would work so well a 2nd time around.

.....but then what do I care I get my VCIII!!!

and yes please god be on the PS3!

I sorta hope they bring up a completely new cast/story/era altogether. Not that I didn't like Welkin and Alicia or anything, but I think their tale was sufficiently wrapped up. I'd rather they focus on a new direction instead of playing out something we already experienced. And yeah, going the whole offspring route would feel a bit corny to me, too. =\

I guess I wouldn't mind seeing cameos of old characters though.

The only thing I'm interested in so far and its on the damn PSP again! Seriously is the demand not there for another PS3 title for this series?

This is really making me consider buying a PSP now.

For the PSP again...rats.

I have a PSP and I do love to play games on it. But Valkyrie Chronicles is definitely not a game I'd like to play on a portable console. I prefer to sit down on my comfy couch with a big TV and plan my strategy instead of on a puny screen on the train going to somewhere in a hurry.

Damnit. I really freaking hope they use the Canvas engine again someday on other games. That engine is too beautiful to be used on only one game, it's a freaking shame.

Bad news for you people ...

Valkyria Chronicles 3 called "Unrecorded Chronicles" will be released only on PSP ....

Quote:
As Sega inadvertently confirmed yesterday, a new sequel in the Valkyria Chronicles series of strategy RPGs is in the works. What they haven't revealed yet is the platform.

This week's pre-Tokyo Game Show edition of Famitsu magazine confirmed, however, what a lot of fans may've suspected all along: Valkyria Chronicles 3 is coming out on the PSP, just like the previous one did. According to Famitsu, Valkyria 3 will once again be produced by Shinji Motoyama, the mastermind behind the series and a guy 1UP interviewed last year.

Like the previous two games, it will take place in the war-torn land of Gallia, but feature an independent story and a completely brand-new cast of characters. The magazine also notes that the plot will take place at the same time as the first game; it'll focus on the "Nameless," a penal battalion formed entirely of AWOL soldiers, army lawbreakers, and convicted criminals pressed into military service. This group handles covert missions and other under-the-table stuff for the Gallian government, and as you'd expect, they have a pretty high rate of attrition.

News that the series is staying on the PS3 is, in itself, enough to disappoint a lot of Japanese gamers. "If it's on a portable, then I don't need it," one anonymous commenter wrote on Japanese forum site 2ch.net. "I wanted something like how the first game was, but no... 2 was a disappointment to me, so I don't have any expectations at all for this one."

Why stay on the PSP, then? According to Motoyama, because there wasn't much reason not to. "This is the third game in the series, but only the second one on the PSP," he told Famitsu. "I figured that we should introduce new things to the series and let it mature more [on the PSP]. Of course, I know there are gamers who wanted us to release it on the PS3, but since the first Valkyria came out two years ago, I think we'd need a wholly different idea for the PS3, not something where the gameplay's only been updated a little bit. The problem with that, though, is that I don't think such a game would be Valkyria any longer."

While Motoyama is open to future PS3 developments, it seems that Valkyria is firmly planted on the PSP for now. "I want to make games on the right platform for the ideas I have. However -- for now, at least -- we're making the best Valkyria Chronciles that we can come up with."

The game is a lock for TGS, so stay tuned for more details imminently.
