The more I read the worse it gets. Should I be impressed with the high-level psychopathy in this series?

The ring-leader of the bullies from his previous life orchestrates blackmail, kidnapping, murder, and all-round sadism at the tender age of 13. MC is repeatedly beaten by his father without ever being able to go to a hospital, forcing him to use crutches to even walk. Nobody calls the police, child services, or even a counselor. All that's before he is even reincarnated. After which he is still beaten from infancy, forced to subsist on rats/insects because nobody will give him food, attempted to be offered as a human sacrifice, and other ridiculous incidents. That's not counting the continuous mental abuse throughout.

Seriously it goes so far as to be a caricature. I can't generate any sympathy when I can't even take the premise seriously. Child abuse happens, but not this "everybody out to torture him for shits and giggles" setting.

Is there any explanation yet about why black hair is associated with Maou in that world? I'm up to chapter 34, and from Bing I can only gleam some things about the dragon species, some magic, and background of hero. But I never saw any explanation about black hair = Maou. His adventures also almost break my suspension of disbelief. Sacrificed to the dragons, met an adventurer, got a dragon pet/sibling.. and he's not even 5 yet.

I kind of wonder that myself, but for different reasons than suicide. If they really thought he was the devil, why didn't they just skip straight to killing him instead of starving and abusing him? That or ignore him entirely. It's complete idiot ball territory. Even if the dragon didn't happen the MC was planning to murder them all.
