Watching some alpha gameplay of this game. Still not even sure how to judge the balance of this @_@ I haven't seen an equal skill match-up yet. At levels 10+ of players. It's either the monster decimates the hunters because the hunters aren't communicating. Or the hunters are completely decimating the monster because they are level 1 and freshly new. So far it seems that once the hunters communicate, and at a higher level. It's practically over for the monster. So right now the hunters are overpowered.

As interesting as this game's concept is, I'm not sure I'll get it since I don't really have anyone to play with, and it looks like one where communication and teamwork is essential. Though I suppose that could be sidestepped by just playing as a monster all the time, if it'll let you do that.

Wow, 2k spamming them alpha keys like it's Halloween candy. I guess if anyone wants one, drop me a PM.
Also, crazy how I haven't lost a single game as the monster yet. Most teams I come up against are pretty uncoordinated, or I manage to evade them until I reach a good point in stage 2/3. At this stage where everyone's still learning the game, hunters definitely need more effort to pull a win, but a coordinated team (was lucky to be in a few) can very quickly find and dispatch a stage 1. One other thing I realise about hunters is that you gotta pick the right place for a fight. You'd want something with elevation or cover so that you can weave around the monster. |

No real difference since the patch, but from experience monsters do get slotted just that bit faster. Basically before you start matchmaking, the game makes you rank the roles (monster+4 hunter class) you want to play and try to slot you into your preferences.

Much of my time was spent playing the monster during the beta and I didn't think that was the case, unless you meant a team finding the monster at stage 1 (maybe 2). But monsters are definitely not underpowered. The Goliath is fairly well balanced against the hunters, where I can punish poor teams at stage 2, and have some real struggles at stage 3 with good teams. Kraken at this stage is pretty overpowered. I've only lost one game during my entire time in the beta as a monster, and that was when I was screwing around with Kraken's team-wiping ability at stage 1.
