From what I have heard Atlus had to remove the voice acting outside of cutscenes.
http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q1-2012/011812a.html. This is surely something you might have to get used to, compared to other Growlanser games. On the other hand the voice sound volume in the PS2 version was at times quite low/(soft?).

Let's revive this thread a bit.
General thoughts so far... Managed to put a good solid 10 or so hours and I'm really enjoying it now. The first few hours are indeed a tad show and somewhat dry (despite the good dialogue) but the plot is really starting to become interesting where I'm at which I won't say for the sake of spoilers. Oddly enough, I'm not sure whether I can consider this game a "true strategy RPG". While the battles themselves have a more involved nature common with the sub-genre, everything else outside is pretty much like your traditional RPG (walkable towns, fields etc) which is unusual. The game structure feels like the Trails in Sky" only without all that quest stuff and less linear. This would probably be much easier (and less frustrating) to accomplish in NG+ you know. I don't think it's possible to do everything on your first playthrough. |

That's pretty much what I'm trying to do too with most of the missions. But damn it some of them are annoying as hell (like the Dukhiem sea invasion one). I really do like how the battles aren't all just "Kill Everyone" like most SRPGs though. Really fun game.
Also is it me or are there a lack of save points in this game? Last edited by Iron Maw; 2012-08-12 at 18:51. |

Man, I'm beginning to suck hard at this game. Maybe I rushed things a bit, seeing how I wanted to see more of a story then fight, but now the story missions are a bit hard for me. The mages are doing a horrible damage to my party members, and while I use the time to heal and attack, every mission becomes a long-hour drag. Guess it's time to grind a bit. Still, enjyoable game indeed.
