I have checked the rules again and it seems spoilers are allowed in this thread, but only if they are under spoiler tags. I do wonder why in that case it is called a spoiler thread, instead of a regular thread.

And yes, the problem is Western, because only Western people don't seem to get that Shirou is just mildly teasing Mitsuzuri. It's a harmless jest that everyone who knows about Japan will understand and might even find funny, which is why no Japanese that I know of makes a fuss about that scene. Kinda similar to the common "People die when they are killed" idiom that people make fun of. You simply can't translate it well into English (besides, mirror-moon's translation in general was way too literal sometimes), which then leads to dumb connotations.
