Hmm, completed the Kongou sisters as well as Ise and Hyuuga. Got 4 Fleet slots now, so... Actually all I need to complete are the carriers Kaga, Shoukaku, and Zuikaku.
But that will come later. Need to grind resources and levels so I can challenge E-2 at the end of the week.

Try a different proxy server? Because I'm currently in-game, and aside from the slowness due to playing using the office's browser, nothing seems to be up.

Got Iku from E1 (not bother continuing E2 though).
Having a submarine makes grinding the first node of 2-4 much easier since most of the enemies will shoot her (and miss). And even if her HP is reduced to 1, her docking time is only around 10 minutes. Of course I have her equipped with a Repair Kit just in case |

Depends of the map. For E2, if all the elite CA are toasted, there won't be any day battle.
You can be certain that you won't have a day battle if a boss is left alone.

You don't need CA for E2. In fact, I wouldn't recommend them, unless you don't have enough good DD/CA.

Btw, my friends claimed that if you take moderate/heavy damage during day time, and you go to night battle, your ship won't sink, is that true?

I think it used to be though that subs with critical damage were pretty much invulnerable until it was patched. Edit: Playing here at the office has been a strange experience. Because the browser is so slow, a sortie to 3-2A takes anywhere from 10-15 minutes or more. Strangely enough, this means that because of the time lag for each sortie, this means that the girls I sortie never get fatigued. ^^; So this means I can use my main fleet over and over without needing to swap out girls.

Approximately a milimeter per hour (as in, 1 tiny bar). Absolutely not. Going through night battle is considered as another fight. If your ships are in moderate damage and/or afflicted by fatigue, they are goign to sink.

Done with E4... this map almost drove me nuts...
I pretty much took the "amoral" path as in: using 3-4 low level DD to minimize damage on the 2 Kongou BB and hoping both will deal enough damage on the boss. Whilst this strategy takes a lot of time, each sortie cost far less than your usual 1/2 CTL + 1/2 CA + 1 DD + 2 Kongou, and you have far less risk involved in there. I pretty much grinded the boss with my 2 Kongou and 4 DD, and half way of her HP, I decided to put Takao hoping it would capitalize more on the few boss encounters (considering how trollish the compass is). Of course, Haruna, and thereafter Takao, got repair crew, as you are not safe from random crits on your main ships even if you still have your DD alive by the time you reach the pre boss node. I actually planned switching to my main fleet, but as the boss had 2 third of a full bar, I managed to finish her off out of the blue, with both Kongou and Haruna critting the boss one after another. Overall, it took me 6 hours for 37 sorties, 9685 fuel, 5320 ammo, 9322 steel, 50 buckets. (Not taking in account the expeditions done alongside, but probably extra 1000/2000 fuel/ammo). Also at least something like... 40-50 DD (their sinking quotes will haunt me for a while). Here is some stats for those who are curious: Spoiler:
Regardless of the startegy you are using, note that: 1) you -must- have 2 Kongou class BB in order not to go to east 2) The boss is incredibly weak to Sanshikidan (Type 3 ammo, the AA green bullet equipment). You should equip this to every ships that can use them. 3) Sub tactic is not really encouraged except if you use only 1 as your flagship (that's assuming they are high level enough to dodge/sustain enough punishment so you aren't sent to the base prematurely). They will be useless as the boss cannot be attacked by torpedoes. That said, they will cancel potential cutin from every DD and CA encounter, but you will not have fun time with the other enemy ships... 4) Day battle will only trigger if at least the second or the third enemy ship is still alive. If both are sunk, day battle won't proceed. 5) If you have repair crew / repair goddess, you should equip them: you -will- eat crits left and right and there is nothing you can do except praying RNG Goddess. As such, these items will allow you to push a bit forward, while not having them will force you to retreat at any moment, unless you are really ready to sacrifice your main ships. Also, even in red state, ships can still deal decent damage on the boss, even DD. At times, Kongou and Haruna destroyed the trash much to my dismay, but my throwaway DD could still dish out 30-50 dmg on the boss during day battle, which helps a lot in this grinding tactic. 6) You definitely need at least 10-15K Fuel/Ammo and 50-70 Buckets for this map, and your average ship (or main ships that is) must be around lvl 50-60. Anything lower is simply suicide.
