Makes me wonder if they'll ever have the ARISE group perform at a live concert. |

Given that Yume no Tobira is about twice the length of Shocking Party (in episode 3, anyways), you can argue that both songs had about the same amount of hand drawn frames, where Muse gets extra CG ones just out of tradition (also because I argue that it's easier to animate 9 girls dancing in CG than it is to hand drawn them. :P).

Next time out... A-Rise: Fully hand drawn Muse: 35% CG Tsubasa: Wow, you guys have really improved! Honoka: He he he... thanks! Final time out.... A-Rise: Fully hand drawn Muse: Fully hand drawn Honoka: I knew this day would come! We're finally as good as A-Rise! Nico: And we pulled ahead of them by Maki and I coming up with a 9-person version of the Nico Nico Nii!

^ Well, that didn't take long. Nice pic!
What I want to do now is share some interesting history on A-Rise. You see, love of music very much runs in the family when it comes to A-Rise. Here is Arise... Spoiler for A-Rise:
And here are the mothers of each of the A-Rise members, when they were the same age as A-Rise is currently... Spoiler for A-Rise mothers:
Erina, Tsubasa, and Anju all became friends partly due to how their respective mothers were friends with each other. Their mothers would often wax nostalgic about the fun they had running a school band as teenagers, so Tsubasa decided that she wanted her and her two friends to follow in their mothers' footsteps. To A-Rise's credit, they far exceeded anything their mothers ever accomplished in the field of music! But there was something missing, a key piece. A-Rise's mothers would often talk and joke about this one particular girl that was a part of their school band. This girl was a loveable goofball, that some days would completely slack off, wanting to fool around when practice had to be done. And yet, when the big moments arrived, this girl would always rise to the occasion, helped along by a very responsible younger sister. A-Rise heard a lot about this girl, and wished that they themselves could have a friend like that. But, alas, at high-society UTX they weren't likely to meet a girl like this one. So she'd have to come from outside. Then, one day, they finally saw a girl like the one their mothers talked a lot about... Spoiler for Don't Call Me Lazy for having Shocking Parties:
Oh happy day! A-Rise had found their lovable goofball. And the legacy of HTT now A-Rises more than ever... Spoiler for My Love is Like A Stapler fighting Private Wars:

I mean, these live performances are typically few and far between - I think the entirety of Season 1 only had 5 or so of them (discounting the very short bit of A-Rise's Private Wars). And each of them are only two or three minutes in duration. This isn't like mecha action in Valvrave where it's there almost every episode, and often for half-a-episode or so.

I always thought that part of the reason with the CG, was so that the real life group could watch it for the choreography. It's a program, and they just move the camera angle for the anime. So I imagine they have the entire thing in the CG, and try to fully draw most of it. Then use the CG when they feel lazy.
And then it doubles as an aid for the VAs, so they can watch and learn outside of whatever practice they do. You never know though. Just a thought. |
