If you notice, during the experiments Kurono "lost" his identity and he became auto piloted by the ring; but he woke up thanks to an accident (earthquake). It was already removed when the experiment was over and her new personality already set.
She regained her memories when kurono just hit her on the head really really really hard.

her head-ring was removed by Judas(?), the one who supervised the summoning of Kuro (and her, I think) back in volume 1, before the Invasion Fleet went towards Pandora

Be sure to soak them in warm water (not burning hot) at least 30 mins a day evey day without fail. If the water colds, warm more again (or make an habit of keeping more ready water in reserve)..... Naturally, you can "do" something else in the mean time, but nothing that will remove the fingers from the water (like, watching a sports game on tv or something).

To be honest, the darkest part (the first 9~ arcs or something) feels like the prolog more than anything. It's not like things change suddenly to happy later; but the mc is more successul in fighting disaster.

Sariel unlocked the conditions to get a blessing from a Dark God; and it's mostly thanks to her feelings for Kurono. She apparently saw herself unfit to accept (after all, she considers that feeling "borrowed" from the kaichou); but accepts anyway thinking on helping Kurono.... And in doing so, she receives "lethal damage".

So, I'm guessing that she'll need something akin to "a quick rebirth", since her current body is uncompatible to anything but white ass magic. Currently, she has been fighting only using matial arts (which use MP, but have no element).
