For those interested, manga volume 1 covers chapters 0 to 7. There is an extra 4 page short story(print, not comic) at the end of the volume entitled, "That Meeting, It was Fate" which tells about the meeting between Hajime and Yue from her perspective. It was rather interesting since her impressions and feelings on meeting Hajime come off as a lot more innocent and girlish than her cool demeanor in the main story showed.

Not that I am aware of, though since I started reading the raws on my own I don't pay a lot of attention to what's going on with the translations anymore.

I'm currently working my way through LN volume 5, though skipping around a bit as usual to get at some of the new content. One interesting factoid that I ran across in the postscript is that Remia is apparently modeled after the Alicia Florence character from the Aria series.

About volume 5's extra chapter,

...... All I can say is, "Wow."
While it is a little disappointing that it broke with the previous volumes' pattern of providing more depth to the heroine on the cover, this chapter was still definitely worth the read.

Basically, during the time after returning from Merujine Labyrinth while they are still staying at Remia's house, Shea and Tio, who were in the changing room in preparation for their bath, came across Yue's diary that had been mistakenly left behind when she and Kaori had taken their turn before. Being the two of them, they naturally couldn't help taking a peek at it.

They go through several entries tsukkomi-ing about how heavy Yue's love for Hajime is.(Also with regards to how terrifying she is as she writes about hunting Hajime. Based on some of the entries, Yue might actually be a bigger yandere than Kaori...)

Her entries for meeting the other girls were also pretty funny since she starts them off with the Pokemon meme "A wild X appeared"(in this case X being a disappointing rabbit, worthless dragon, and Kaori).

Eventually Yue discovered them, and even though they apologized and tried to run away at full speed by erecting a barrier and breaking down the wall to escape outside, Yue still buried them under a downpour of thunder dragons. The chapter ends with Yue noting in her diary that sometimes thunder dragon weather can be refreshing before she goes off to collect her crispy companions.

I finally remembered what I always thought of when kouki (reread summaries) showed up or did something stupid. I mentally changed kouki into kuuki (from kuuki yome=read the atmosphere!).

Finally got around & read the 2 new chapters, Xmas story was fun. Miu really has pretty much become like her papa in lots of ways...which for the most part is bad (though her "trolling" are all innocent & unintentional). Her choice of gifts is...typical of the family I guess?

Kouki & his hero(lol) swag is as strong as ever seeing how

his party members are actually the former goddess & the former queen of the other worlds. A chapter or two dedicated to him & his suffering adventures & road to redemption ought to be quite entertaining.

Not yet. I wouldn't be surprised if J-Novel Club picked it up sometime since they have a deal going on with Overlap. Otherwise, following the standard model, Yen Press would probably try to grab it as soon as it got an anime adaptation.

Incidentally, volume 5 is currently ranked 5th in the Oricon sales rankings for the week of 12/19 - 12/25.

Well, actually I buy a couple of series from YP translation and Bakemonogatari from Vertical. So, if I will get a chance to get this one, I will not hesitate. Only one thing which a bit annoys me is, that for YP it took 4 months for release new Volume. For Vertical it is 2 months.
I just start to read a WN and I really like it. That is why I ask about licensed version.

Phew, I'm finally finished with volume 5. Covering two labyrinths makes for a couple of really long chapters. Now, for the review.

LN volume 5 covers WN chapters 84 to 98(Kind of surprising that there wasn't an illustration of one of the girls in the belly dance costume at the end). As usual there aren't many changes in the original material, but here's what I picked up on from the first read:

Fried and his subordinate Mihail(Cattleya's fiance) are introduced in the prologue discussing Cattleya's death, suspecting it had been caused by the "irregular" that appeared in Ul. Afterwards, Fried decided to set off for Guryuen to pursue more power.

There is a new scene occurring slightly before Aiko returned and was kidnapped(end of volume 4). Shizuku was off training by herself to the point of throwing up by using the image of killing Cattleya for her sword drawing. As she took a break and was about to eat something, she noticed a cat had approached, and her inner maiden was awakened. Shizunyan is indeed quite lovely. After receiving some trauma from being discovered meowing by Liliana, who had come looking for her out of worry, the two of them spent some time talking about the current situation and the possibility of Hajime being declared a heretic. Afterwards they engaged in some girls talk about Randel and Kouki ending up in "orz" position due to the reminder of Kaori's loss, as well as the story about Hajime's appearance. Later, when Shizuku was going to rejoin the others, she felt a brief chill down her spine and turned back, but, not seeing anything, ended up continuing on her way while hurrying her steps a bit.

The scene where Hajime was piggybacking Yue at the start of Merujine was rewritten a bit. Shea, Tio, and Kaori teased Yue a little about being carried, which increased her embarrassment, although she only returned a cutting remark to Kaori.

The epilogue consists of a new scene featuring both Yuuka and Shizuku worrying about their current situation while both unconsciously wished that Hajime were there. It also shows Eri(still unrevealed) and Fried simultaneously preparing to execute their respective plans in different places. Aiko is shown imprisoned in the Church, muttering Hajime's name as his image came to her mind after Neunte demonstrated how powerless she was. After leaving Aiko's cell, Neunte muttered her determination to put an end to Hajime if he came.

I spoke about the extra chapter already, but it was interesting seeing a new side of Yue. Some of those diary entries genuinely exceed the borderline for sanity.

Overall, it was a very good read as always, and makes me really look forward to the release of Volume 6 in the Spring(that Yue figurine Animate is offering is cute).

Actually, as far I read vol 1 LN and like 40 chapters of WN, and I must say, that in LN the intimacy is described better, especially when they are at the end of the first dungeon. It is like that in every LN ?

Generally a lot of the new content introduced in the light novel serves to better flesh out the characters. In particular, the Extra chapter at the end of each volume provides more depth to the heroines. So far the biggest change that has occurred between the light novel and the web novel has to do with Yuuka Sonobe's character, but overall there are very few changes in terms of plot between the WN and LN minus some new scenes or slight changes in narrative here or there.

Damn, the extra scene of Shizuku with the cat is pretty funny. And the extra story is superb as usual. Usually the SS of other WN author about the characters other than MC make me yawn non-stop. But this author's SS might be actually even better than the main story. Made me even regretful that there are still so many other SS of arifureta that are out of reach.
