There is an arc dedicated to a big problem with a mean senior church officer. And about the MC's parents, it's strongly hinted that it needs to be touched later, the story has teased quite a few times that the MC's parents were hiding their identities, and who they are and why exactly that happened happened to them is probably going to be a big deal later.

For what I figured is the issue is that.....

They weren't "just" killed among the people of the town for a dumb reason like taxes, but rather the church specifically wiped out the town to kill them and disguised the act with "their usual practices"; also, apparently the MC parents could have escaped easily, but actually stayed behind to prevent something and that lead to them being killed (and that allowed the MC to survive).

This series plays a lot with the idea of fate, and the identity of the MC's folks is going to hint what fate he "needs" to follow, and if it's the one the reader think it is (ages ago, there it was a demon general or something that's basically doing the same that the MC is doing, which is getting in his way constantly and NTRing his childhood friend )

....... Of course I could be wrong, like anything I do in life.

mind you that for all intent and purposes Rangie is the main heroine and for 200 chapter+ when she is always by the side of the mc(while the actual "main heroine" is seen like 2 to 3 times) so then to make her flirt with strangers was ok, make her a prostitute so i could maybe see her sleeping with stranger men(should be before the story if your gonna make her a heroine but some authors will have that in the middle of the story ) but to have her sleep with mc best friend is just a nono for me

and then making the mc act nonchalently when he finds his best friend is coming out of her room in the early morning after obviously sleeping with her, i mean i know you dont want harem author, but at least have the decency to not have a heroine you kept throwing at the mc with flirtation and teasing for 70% of the story sleep with his best friend thats practically NTR(inbeforz someone comes with the: hmm wellll thechnically iits not really a harem and sh............. ugh )"

For anyone curious, apparently there were a lot of scenes that ventured into 18+ territory which management finally got around to dealing with a few days ago. Still unknown whether the author will reupload on nocturne, just end it, or reboot the whole thing.
