Only words I understand is stuff like nani, hai, joto mate, shini, baka, numbers, a few colours and thank you etc....

No.. i think it's more like you know exactly what it means but just listening and you'll probably also somewhat understand what they are talking about... i think that is something prety much everyone here has incommon...because those words you mentioned are always used in pretty much every anime
