It is more like random and luck. The show emphasizes an underdog may have chance with good lucks. He is at disadvantage, and the joy of winning is rewarding to viewers, perhaps.

Japanese web discussion is negative toward this show, but they shrug it off as this anime is popular oversea. The Solo Leveling sale in Japan does not report number. Usually, it means shows are not sold well. Japanese online discussion say it is anit-Japan because it shows an island nation in a negative light. The antagonist(and his Japanese sounding name) is from the island nation. Well, the people who dislike the show are not aware several anime and manga portray bad image antagonists with the specific ethnic traits. It would make those anime biased shows, too. The same people who complain Solo Leveling as anti-Japan show may find it is fine to portray non-Japan people with negative images.
