if you think about it, Shuuhei could be part of that Ichigo look-alike as well...I don't think it's weird so much as I think Kubo is trying to do some major tranference concerning Rukia. Kaien is deader than dead and had a wife and I think he's progressively working on Rukia moving on from that past to making new ones with Ichigo (platonic or otherwise).
