Does this volume give an estimate on how long ago this took place?
The current ones we see are probably the same generation as Rizevim. The descendants we know are likely their children or grandchildren depending the time period between Zero and the civil war takes place. Their attitudes are basically just those of privileged royalty. They just look down on all those not of the Maous because they see themselves as special. This can happen at all ages and is one of the reasons people try to overthrown monarchies.
