The former queen has an ability which lets her reset her life. Thanks to that she's done future sight vision like lifestyle by re-living over and over until she finds her ideal future.
The queen is the original princess of that kingdom, youngest of a number of siblings, but they all ended up killing each other and the kingdom ending fighting over the throne so it ended up in her hands. The king married into his position as king, wasn't originally a prince. She married him after trying to marry any number of kings who could rule and all lead to the end of the kingdom other than him.
After she marries him it still ends it just takes that much longer because of how beta he's seen and the fact thathe does like nothing for the kingdom. (Still gets attacked and ends they just get that much more prep)
So to further fix that + to meet the request of the empire they summon the MC, the first time they summon him the king gives him the position of prime minister and basically leaves him in the same position as he is in the story - the king part. Though he gives his best the kingdom still ends and both the MC and princess die in war. So they try one more time and this time the king literally just dumps everything on the MC in chaos mode like in the start of the series.
