A brief explanation of the setting and premise (no spoilers!)

Relatively normal guy named Sorata Kanda gets put into the loony bin because he's a sucker for abandoned cats, which the "normal people" dorms don't allow. While struggling to work back to normal life, he's forced to put up with living with a bunch of "mentally defective" people in his daily life. One day, a new student, Mashiro Shiina, transfers to the school and is put into Sorata's care by the lazy resident teacher because she's... special. Moreso than the rest. Things go downhill from there for Sorata. A comedic slice-of-life for us, a living hell for him.

A brief summary of why you like it and/or why you think others might like it

Although it starts a little slow, it picks up well and results in some "interesting" comedy thanks to Shiina's borderline insane amounts of anti-common-sense. Not just "no common sense", it's as if she actively defies common sense such as constantly getting Sorata into trouble with his childhood friend. Worth sticking through to the end.

How much of it you've experienced (particularly for longer series)

Entire first season.

Other works that it reminds you of, if applicable

Zero no Tsukaima, in how the MC struggles with internal decisions about whether to live out his new life or return home.
