Yeah, what you're saying makes sense, but I was assuming sage powers possessed by Naruto or Sasuke were needed(e.g. when Sasuke mentioned he needed his rinnegan to investigate other dimensions); and if they did indeed find something , its pretty likely that only
they would be best suited to deal with a foe who might be stronger than Kaguya... That was the suspicion anyway.
