I've seen a lot of people make comparisons between this series and Naruto lately, but.... I just don't see it. Anyway.... all that being said, I just wanna mention that I also went and looked ahead at the rest of the raws (not the Chinese scans), up to the latest one (ch. 18). It's a real blast, too:

Gotta admit, as much of a dick as Bakugou (the explosion rival dude) may be, he sure as hell knows how to make effective use of his powers. I also find myself liking Iida (glasses guy) and yes, the frog girl (if I'm not mistaken, her name is Asui Tsuyu). Sadly, Ochako hasn't gotten much screen time in the current arc.... guess the author is waiting until the next arc to develop her more. BTW, some other prominent members of the cast include one bishie dude who has powers of both heat AND frost, and that one dark-haired girl with the ponytail (again, I'm not completely sure here, but I think her name name is something like Yaoyorozu Momo), who seems to have the power to create weapons from her body. Oh, and I guess there's that goofy little midget whose head is shaped like broccoli, lol.


Anyways, the current arc has the kids fighting actual villains! Some of them have creepy designs too, particularly the three guys who're pretty much acting as the leaders (some sort of big brain monster, a dude made out of black mist who has the ability to warp others through black holes, and the (IMO) creepiest one, some guy with hands covering his body). And in the current chapters, we've got some of the kids backing up All Might to kick their asses.....

Yeah, in fact Chapter 19 is out and translated in Chinese as well.

Regarding the characters, the future chapters gave out some interesting info:

1) Bakugou's explosive powers are actually caused by his sweat, which has explosive properties. His power's effectiveness can be effected by the weather as well.

2) Iida comes from a prestigious family of Heroes. He looks up to his older brother, who is a famous Hero as well.

3) The villains led by the hand guy in the current story arc are actually formed to assassinate All Might, after news broke out that he's now employed as a teacher at Izuku's school. In fact the battle shown in the recent chapters are one of their assassination attempts after learning All Might's schedule by infiltrating the school, but they're not aware that the latter is absent due to his wounds affecting him again...
