The only people who know about his military status is those who were with him when the 101st enlisted his help during the invasion. It was asked to keep such status a secret.
Chiaki doesn't know about his military involvement but after being forced to forget who Zhou is, she is still resenting Tatsuya because of what happened to her sister. I think she came to realize that Tatsuya never really treated her as an advasary and that after some motivational words from Suzune, she hopes to surpass Tatsuya in engineering since Suzune thought she had potential in the field so that is why she is taking the course.
