HOW DO I USE REPORT BUTTON
By Outphase (aka: Since the served crashed, is now Razer_2mb)
Although the
Report button may be ignored constantly by people who think they can straighten out other people themselves, it is more wise if you just click that button
at the side of the post. Trying to reason with a person that needs to be reported is a waste of time which might get you in trouble for
flame baiting.
Either way, if you reply to the rule-breaker, when a moderator comes, your post will most likely be deleted to try to make sure that said-person isn’t mentioned again through the entire thread.
Posts
There posts that you can and can
not report. Also, when you report a post, give a short reason what they did wrong.
What you can report:
Flaming: insulting others is not allowed on this forum.
ex. “You suck, moron”
What you should type in the Report box: “flaming a member.” “insulting anther member.”
Flame baiting: trying to get people to insult you or other is also against the rules.
ie. I hate <insert anime here>. It sucks, and so do all the fans, and to not suck the must insult me to prove they have some balls.
What you should type in the Report box: “Flame bating.” “Trolling by getting people to insult others.”
Short one sentence posts: These posts almost always add nothing to the thread since it’s obvious by the short comment they’re not posting anything important
ie. “I agree.”
What you should type in the Report box: “Useless post.”
Inappropriate images: nudity is never allowed on this site, not even legal. Using images to insult another member is also not allowed. Inappropriateness also accounts for links to videos.
ie. :Posts picture of 12 year-old naked girl tied down and a message saying “You’re so weak you can’t even rape this child”: “
osts link to video about a man having intercourse with a woman:”
What you should type in the Report box: “Pornography.” “Child porn.” “Using a mean-spirited image.” “Linking to video with sexual content.”
Huge images: There are some dial-up used that get upset that they can’t view/reply to a thread until
everything else loads up, so if you
must post a huge image, make it a thumbnail leading to the full size image or just post the site address.
ie. :
2000x2000 image posted:
What you should type in the Report box: “Very large image.” “Image slowing down my dial-up.”
Bad spelling and/or grammar: If one types in “AOLer”, “1337”, ALL CAPS, etc. report them. This is a forum meant for people who can actually
use the English language, not rip it apart into an unreadable post of hodgepodge.
ie. “hllo i m nuw lol gr8 plce u gt heer lol wel gtg by lol” “! 4|\/| |\|3\/\/ 70 7|-| |=0P\|_||\/|”
“I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU VIEW ON :insert thing here:”
What you should type in the Report box: “Failure to construct a readable sentence.” “Typed out whole post in 1337.” “Can’t turn off the ‘caps lock’ or let go of the ‘shift’ key.”
Spoilers: The staff would like to get rid of any post that doesn’t include spoiler tags and reveal an important part of the series.
ie. “She dies!” “And they kick the bad guys ass!”
What you should type in the Report box: “No spoiler tag.” “They couldn’t be bothered to use a spoiler tag, so they ruined the ending for me.”
Advertising: Whether it be spam, a scam, a contest for them to win stuff, their site, etc. it’s against the rules.
ie. “Help me win this iPod (posts site)”
What you should type in the Report box: “Spamming a product/a contest/their site.” “posting link leading to a scam site.”
Spamming: Remember that there is a difference between someone posting a lot of long and meaningful posts and someone just posting like a madman. Sometimes the “short one sentence” posts and “Advertising” are since in spamming.
ie. “Yes, I think you’re right.
“I disagree with you”
“lol that’s so funny”
“I like :inset anime:”
All of the above in less that 20 minutes, and they still continue stupid posts like the above. Sometimes, they say one thing, but they post in 20 times in the same thread.
What you should type in the Report box: “Spamming.”
Bumping/Necroposting: Bumping is when you revive a thread which no one replied to in a long time. It’s okay if you’re adding something, but it’s not okay if it’s just for the sake of bring it back up.
ie. “Bump”
Why did you bump it? Are you trying to find something to say after people get mad at you?
“I agree.”
Yay for you, now only if you did that a year ago.
What you should type in the Report box: “Bumping old thread with nothing constructive to say.”
Already made thread: We don’t need two topics discussing the same thing.
ie. “NOOOOOOOO! Naruto has been licensed” “Where’s the Naruto Movie?!”
“Hello, my name is :so-and-so: and I’m new the the forums” and creates a topic about joining.
What you should type in the Report box: “Making an already existing thread.”
Neg-whining: I was afraid that I would have to do this one......
People don’t want you to complain about your neg reps (Trust me, they
really don’t want to hear it. Take my word for it since I found that out the hard way.) Making a new post for it is really bad, but if you make a topic you’re just asking for trouble.
ie. (makes new thread) “OMGWTF WHAT’S THIS NEG REP ALL ABOUT!?!?!

What you should type in the Report box: “Neg-rep whining.”
Posting something illegal: Aside from child porn and scams, you’re also not allowed to post links to fansubs that fansub licensed anime or scandalations to licensed manga. Bootlegs, DVD rips, mp3s, illegal software, anime or manga raws, anything that can illegal circumvent copy protection like serial numbers or “cracks”, or anything else illegal.
ie. Someone posts a link to any of the above.
What you should type in the Report box: “Linked to bootlegs.” “Linked to Raw anime.” “Posting site where one can download licensed anime fansubs.” and so on.
Episode release: e don’t want to hear people complaining about not getting the oh so precious
FREE anime fansubs and about them being late. Personally, I wish there was a “smack the member with a shovel button” for those kinds of posts.
ie. “OMG <insert anime here> is late by almost
20 whole minutes. Let’s raise hell!
What you should type in the Report box: “Complaining about late episode release.”
Public events: Let’s clear things up: Every member here lives somewhere else from each other. We all don’t live in Philadelphia, Japan, or some city we never heard of until YOU came here.
ie. “Hey, big party at
Hornytown, North Carolina tonight. Boo-yea! Who’s going to be there?
What you should type in the Report box: “Posting about public event around where he lives.”
Personal conversation in thread: We have this amazing system called “Personal Messaging”. If you must go off topic and talk to each other for 2 pages, do it there.
ie. “So how are things going?”
“Fine, I guess.”
“Well that’s good to hear.”
“lol”
and it’ just goes on and on like that.
What you should type in the Report box: “Going off topic and having a personal conversation with another member.”
Off-topicness: I shouldn’t even need to explain this one.
ie. “I like ducks.” (thread is about global warming.)
What you should type in the Report box: “Went off-topic.”
Army-building games/Petitions: You posting links to things like “Outwar” and “Kink of Chaos”. Also, no petitions. Online petitions don’t work anyway.
ie. “I found this cool army-building game. Check it out! posts link:”
“Help me have Naruto!
osts link:”
What you should type in the Report box: “Posting link to army-building game.” “Posting an online petition about whatever.”
What you should
NOT report:
People posting: Yes, the members on a message board have the right to post. If they're aren’t breaking any rules, then don’t report them for stupid reasons like “He/She doesn’t agree with me”.
People who don’t rate another persons avatar or signature: I personally found this out from
NightWish. Honestly, someone forgetting to rate is not that big of a deal. They’ll get to their post sooner or later. Even if it’s for the 5th time the same person didn’t rate, don’t report.
A staff member: There the staff, so don’t report them. They can enforce the rules, and possibly break the forums own rules. By reporting them, you reporting him to his own self. I highly doubt they’ll be like “Oh no. I’m doing something bad. I’ll stop myself!”
A thread that you think is stupid but doesn’t break the rules: You can think a thread someone made is dumb or stupid, but you can’t do a thing about it if he’s not breaking any rules. Just ignore it.
Signature is too big: You can’t report that since they’ll think you’re trying to report their post. For signature manners,
Private Message a staff member, or let them take their time for them to notice songs has an oversized signature.
Threads made with the permission of a staff member:Also note that if they mention that they got a moderators/administrators permission to post any of the above, don’t report them.
