Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen (Mission: Yozakura Family) Anticipation

Looks like Mission: Yozakura Family is getting the anime adaptation, from this week's Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine.

Plot Synopsis

Quote:

High school student Taiyou Asano has been socially inept ever since his family died in a car crash. The only person he can properly interact with is his childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura—the head of the world's strongest family of spies. Mutsumi's eldest brother, Kyouichirou Yozakura, has been overprotective of her ever since he once rendered her severely injured. His love for Mutsumi is lethal, and Taiyou is his next target. To survive, Taiyou must marry Mutsumi and become a member of the Yozakura family. Thrown headfirst into chaos, Taiyou begins his journey to become a powerful spy in order to protect his wife and uncover the dark secrets of his past and the Yozakura family.

Erh. I though people got hyped about it at first but it is now on a serious popularity decline.

Knew this would get animated eventually. Good for it. A nice series overall. Should get some nice action out of it and I do like Taiyou and Mutsumi (along with her family).

Will enjoy seeing how it turns out.

A series I see a lot of but haven't checked out myself, but I like the premise :).

Kind of an odd one for WSJ, was kind of on a tightrope between anime adaptation and cancellation. I suspect this will be one of their low-budget adaptation jobs.

Not surprised this series got an anime. Whenever I read this series, I always got a bit of a Katekyo Hitman Reborn vibe from it and that manga/anime was seriously underrated.

Was kind of hoping it'd be more a mid to late 2023 show, but that's fine. Should be good. Always fun also to go from just seeing the black/white images in a manga and then suddenly getting hit by the anime promo images. Oh right, that's what the main characters look like :).

On that note, Mutsumi is looking extremely lovely :).

Silver Link can certainly handle this kind of thing. They can handle action. Though sometimes I feel it can be a bit hit/miss with them. But they are a solid choice for it.

Kyoichiro is really messed up. I don't know if I can stand him enough to follow this.

I'm going to give it a couple of chapters since I like futaba.

Thought this was going to be serious at the start but then the brother guy showed up, yikes.

The delay seems to fit better with the characters' personalities. If he'd just gone and put on the ring to protect himself, that would from the start seem pretty awful, but the traumatic backstory makes it unbearable to him since in a sense it's like agreeing to let Mutsumi die so he can live. Looks better and works better with his character for him to do it only when it becomes clear that she'll willingly sacrifice everything to protect him, meaning the only way to even give her a chance at a happy life is to accept the ring. Just doing something because "you're going to end up doing it anyway" can result in some really awful character implications, so in my opinion it really helps improve them to have them refuse it under the initial set of circumstances and only accept them when the situation and reasons have changed.
